  • I been making beats for 27yrs since 1997 & everything this guy is noting on I’m light yrs beyond I guess because I started from scratch with making beats on demo tapes & discovering millions of loop holes & short cuts along the way on perfection & crafting your sound but he still has great methods alot infact because don’t everyone know so very helpful????????????????????????☝????

  • Why is the chord being played throughout the song D minor if your samplers telling your the chord of the song is Ab minor?

  • i hate that everyone ever explains shit like i understand what they’re saying, i’m mad new to producing but every youtuber ever keeps making the same mistake of under explaining things, please explain shit better for beginners because my only take away from this vid has been to contact another producer to help me with my bass this video taught me nothing

  • A free PROTIP for single-chord samples for adding some variation: you can change the minor chord by setting the bass note from the root note to either 8 semitones up or 4 semitones down. For example, if the chord is Am whose root note is A, setting the bass note to F changes the chord to be Fmaj7. So, if you alternate the single-chord sample with these two bass notes (and their 3rds and 5ths) you get "two different chords with the price of one." ????

  • What if you have multiple melodies in a beat you made and they're all different notes to the other melodies where are you supposed to put the bass notes in that case??

  • Can we back up one more step? What process do you use to find the chords to a song?

When I want to play the root notes of chords as my bass notes, I find the root notes most of the time by playing the melodic notes on the strong beats as note 1, 3, or 5 of the basic chord.

The moment I figured out this simple rule of thumb, I was suddenly able to find root notes and chords to just about any song I played on my right hand on the piano – which enabled me to extemporaneously play songs by ear and play them in any key signature.
