David Gilmour's 80s and 90s chorus tones using the Boss CE-2

I have a Waza Craft chorus. Always on the C2 setting.
This is the best David Gilmour impression I've ever heard. Tone, vibrato and bendings are absolutely on point. With closes eyes you can not tell who's playing.
Great Player
Great lesson
Awesome tunes
I absolutely love chorus i cant believe at some point it became dated, so useful it can do a pretty good job filling in for the electric mistress which is pretty chorusy to begin with. Might just be me im a fan of modulation
Abandon Chorus? Perish the thought!
A Boss ce2 on my board.
I’ve got a really old CE2 and an old ProCo Rat ‘Woodcutter’ build, some say it has magical voodoo powers ???? and with a Tape Op Delay I built from Stewmac, I have people always comment on that lead tone.
Damn that was a great video and I really enjoyed your playing. Thanks for making this. I’m rocking a Walrus Julia.
Excellent
Great playing and tones Bjorn! Love it!
Is that a Gallien Kreueger below the pedalboard at 1:12? Did David ever use them himself?
Wow! Awesome job on this. Great sounds
Damn, you nailed his sound perfectly
Dave also used Electric Mistress by TC Electronics during the The Wall concerts
Get a CE-3. It’s better.
My favorite Gilmour tone is from the Delicate Sound of Thunder album. Besides the CE-2, did he use any other modulation on that album?
Great review and playing as always. Your website has been a gem for me for many years. I actually really love the sound of your recent backing tracks, are you using any plugins for the drums and the bass?
P.s I recently made a comfortably numb cover, would love to know what you think, it's on my channel
Easily the best DG resource on YouTube! Thank you.
CE-2W & Original 1984 TC SCF
Beautiful use of chorus. Like Pete's Hot Sauce…I put that schiff on everything. Had an Ibanez for years then picked up an MXR Black Label Chorus…more tweakable….similar tonality.
Il mio pedale preferito! Io ho il long dash 1980
Just brilliant!! Wonderful demonstration of the BOSS Chorus CE-2 pedal. I had a BODD Chorus pedal but this is the first time, I can see some info on settings. Very useful to beginner guitarists like me. A small request: Can you provide any guidance on how Mark Knopfler gets his tone on the Fender Strat? Thanks.
Using a CE2 wazza
I’ve had a CE-2 since 1981, but recently started using the Chorus Ensemble Mini from PastFX. Great CE-1 tones and Vibrato.
Came for the info, stayed for the jam. Great stuff.
großartig…..danke.
This was my first pedal, which I bought in Denmark St. London when it was first released. It still sounds good today.
Beautiful playing, my good sir.
Thank you for the review.
Great playing – and to my ears, everything just sounds better with chorus!!
Thanks for the great vid as always. Can you provide the settings on the chorus please?
For me Mooer Ensemble King. Thanks for letting me know with your advice. In this regard I thought I'd share this interesting video/comparison with you

CH-1 here, been using this chorus forever because I have always run a stereo rig…that's what Dave is doing right here
Awesome stuff, Bjorn! And great playing as always.
I have a question about the double chorus, Wall-era thing that has always peaked my curiosity…
How would this have been set up? Would the choruses have been after everything in his signal chain and on his way out to his amplifiers and his rotating speakers? Or did each of these choruses feed into a separate Hiwatt, as I know he used 2-3 of them live?
I just imagine all sorts of phasing issues that would exist with two choruses and I’m curious how the double CE-2 chorus rig would’ve been set up.
As always great playing! You have really make his licks yours. And as DG you make it looks like it is easy to play….
Absolutely brilliant.
I’m using an mxr chorus
I have a CE-2 from around 1980, was always on my board. Replaced with the Waza as the CE-2 got valuable in the used market, so it stays home now. Also use the Waza Dim C. I am liking the Boss MD-500 now as it has way more setting controls and does both.
Chorus? I approve.
First two pedals I bought as a pair in 1988. A CE-2 and an SD-1. Both still on my board today.
It looks like Gilmour used HM-2 as well. That's pretty awesome. It was my go-to pedal back then.
I don't want to play without chorus. Subtle chorus and subtle slapback echo is always on for me.
The Wall Live album is a total Chorus fest. Its awful to listen to at times and total overkill in a few songs
you're the best Bjorn
Dialing the rate low and the depth high is key for a nice chorus effect. I can’t stand those demos where the rate is constantly over midday ????♂️
