Any lessons for small djembe?
That "slap" is actually a tone.
And that annoying ring, ring, ring overtone is typical of fiberglass drums.
good lessons but kept wondering why you use a savanna grass land as your background relating to west africa lol
awoooha. tingling palms????????
SHREYA Was Day
Hi, where is Lesson 2?
Who’s being made to watch this by there music teacher
????
it was usefull please subscribe to me
it was great
Are the tones the same on the left as the right? Could a lefty play but just switch the hands?
I'm getting a weird echoey ringing sound, not that nice flat resonance. Is there any way to fix that? I have a Remo drum. It's driving me NUTS.
Hi. Is that a 12-inch Remo drum? How do you like the drum? do you recommend it? Cheers.
Painful to watch. Please learn to play an instrument before you try to teach it. Go to djembeguru.com to learn how to actually play this amazing instrument
I’m a kid PLEASE do more video I’m being homeschooled! All by myself!
Thank you for this video it was very simple and good for a beginner. I get mixed up not sure how to coordinate my hands
That bass tone is terrible. There's no resonance. I'm not criticizing you playing. It's that bass tone. Terrible. And I just bought one of these.
Remo djembes, goes expensive up to 700e, yet sounds like the cheapest bucket
a good basic beginner video on Proper Technique from someone who actually knows what they are talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYQeh5FX-LM&t=2s
*Plz find someone else to learn from* this guy/Video is Wrong in Most Ways!! Steve Leicach has a great dvd 'The Quick Guide to Djembe Drumming' (i have no affiliation w him). Or, there are better videos on youtube, check out the World Drum Club channel for starters. I can point out all the ways this guy is off…. (one significant one is that his 'Slap' tone technique of banging your joints on the edge of the drum to get fingers to pop down may well damage your hands alot over time). To much to point out, just go study from someone who actually knows….
what a lovely way of teaching and a beautifull djembe , may i know the model and size of this djembe
Great….thanks
I'm confused! Is this a tone or a slap?
Lesson 2 and above??????????
hey, nice video, do the tips of the fingers touch the drum at all when you do the slap (when they rebounce)?
This is the best djembe YouTube I have found for myself. I am very, very, very beginner. Cannot learn three tones at once. Don;t care if it's an authentic West African drum. Most of these videos go tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fast for me to learn from. So you experts out there… please have compassion for the rhythm challenged. And please make more videos that go slower in smaller steps.
where is the lesson two?
great lesson, thanks
Ps: screw the haters
you are not hold g the dejembe correctly and that's a fake dejembe
thanks!
You shouldn't be teaching anyone how to play djembe. There are three basic tones. 1.bass 2.tone 3.slap and you are holding djembe incorrectly,it should be resting on the floor between your legs.
Play Cajon What if you have a smaller djembe? Any tips on how to play that type of instrument? Thanks!
