  • I met and got to chat with Joe Pass in the 80's. He said(I'm paraphrasing here) the most important thing is how you begin a tune and how you end a tune

  • This is very true. I've heard this a million times from trained guys and unless they're reading, they always mess up. Always. Learn the song.

  • Well said! I would wager that you have fired many many many many many many many many many many guitarists… guitarist AIR is dangerous to the songs integrity… Doesn't matter what the song is, you have to take it seriously. Respectfully.

  • I love this It’s always hard to stop working with a good musician because they can’t fit the energy of the songs.

  • I want to hear a creative musician and not a copyist. Make a song your own otherwise get a DJ to play the original.

  • So true. I walk the dogs with headphones on just listening over and over, always in set list order too… which often leads to changes. I'm only a very average player but I can hum (loudly) all the bits I muck up!!! 🙂
