  • Waiting for a Special Sweetwater edition of this amazing guitar. It comes with vintage open Grover tuners and ebony fretboard and bridge.

  • Love what you are playing! Just bought this model guitar yesterday! Where can I take lessons to play the style you are playing…absolutely fantastic! Thank you.

  • Any idea if changing the string will make this guitar sound a little “fuller”? Maybe ebony pins and bone saddle?

  • Has anyone else found some Martin's have the high E string way too close to the edge of the fretboard?

  • Does this really play better than something like a Yamaha FG830? I can barely afford that and it’s only $350

  • Hi, thanks for the review. How come they mention 1.75” nut width on the Martin website. I was going to get it but this is a crucial spec for me 🙁

  • Ymahaha all solid LS16 sounds better than D 10…in my opinion…
    LS16 has all solid construction…
Martin D10 has solid top. & laminated B/S…..LS16 has solid Englemann spruce top and solid rosewood or mahongay back and side…@$799/899 $>>>> Same wood combination in martin guitar will b 2000$….

  • Ive had mine about 2 years now , I cant wait for it to really open up with the sitka top. I have Sapele back and sides so i'm not sure what it will do . but I know this will stay in the family and go down to the kids. thank you for your view and fine music

  • Hi I'm thinking of getting this guitar but will the dark one not spruce top sound as good. I like the dark version looks wise better. I'm Karel a girl you know how we are. Lol

  • I just bought the Sitka and I gotta tell ya it's amazing. I was torn between the Sapele and it and as the story goes, I played several of each and the Sitka I bought just reached out to me. I initially thought the Sapele had a richer tone but "my" Sitka just felt right. Hitting the harmonics loud and rotating the guitar in your hands really gives you a good feel for it's flavor and depth and I gotta say, I've played some gorgeous D18's and D28's and this guitar comes about as close as you're gonna get, let alone for 1,300 bones. The Xseries laminate backs are cheaper but the harmonics rotating thing tells the tale. The $1,000 X sounds like a toy compared to the Sapele and Sitka D10E's. And yes, in Canada they go for $1,250 for the Sapele and $1,299 for the Sitka. Tony Rice compelled me to drop the electric and get back to my roots in Bluegrass and my fire is lit again, I'm loving playing again. Tommy Emmanuel too but Tommy's green thumb stuff is like starting over for real lol
If you're on the fence, trust me, buy a Martin and get to it!!

  • I have one and it's a great playing and sounding guitar. I just need to put some lighter strings on it for my own playing preference.

  • Nice playing! Great review. I have one of the older “Road Series” an older D1 (1994).

  • My little brother bought this guitar a month or 2 ago. It’s one of the nicest acoustic guitars I’ve ever played in my life. Been playing for 37 years. It’s perfect.

  • These are fantastic guitars! I just need it to be a cutaway….that's necessary sometimes!
