The single coil P Bass tone is too good! Nothing like it! Perfection w/ flatwound strings.

Especially with the tone almost closed and flats these things THUMP! Jazz basses don’t thump. I always end up selling them ‘cause they don’t thump. Beautiful basses nonetheless.
Too much yapping not enough playing
Or you could just turn one of the pickups off on a jazz bass and get the same tone, those do sound great though????
Yeah, i was surprised how much i like the single coil.
It has the punch of a P and the articulation of an active pickup.
If I had that bass…….I wouldn't even want another one ????
Spoiler alert. Jazz bass front pickup on every one ever produced is the exact same tone.
Love your vids great feel and great tone in them hands!
I feel like the "front jazz bass sounds like a pbass" thing applies to these more than the split-coil ones. Particularly with the tone rolled back more than what you would do. Not 100% the same obvi as a 2 pickup instrument
The relic thing cracks me up. I started playing in 1973 and music store racks were full of used Fender basses with worn or checked nitro finishes. Nobody wanted a worn out looking Bass back then. It was just shabby looking. Now it's $$$$.
Nice looking bass
You can absolutely fake a P Bass tone with a Jazz bass. BUT! "Fake" is the operative word there lol
How did I get there?
Squier Classic Vibe ‘51 P Bass
Replaced neck w/Fender 50s P Bass Neck (due to truss rod issue w/Squier neck)
Fralin Hum-Cancelling Split Coil Pup
GREAT sounding bass.
that bass is the most beautiful bass ive ever seen holy
The single coil in my 68-telecaster bass is way better than the sound of a split coil in my P bass. Yup.
I've had 2 p basses with the single coil , I've never really like them.
Was going to be sceptical but yes that has a solid flats tone. Id still rather have a '57
You don't have a P bass ????
Shame on you ????
Roundwounds on this bass sound way more raw and gnarly that cut through the mix!
Anthony, you WORK in a guitar store::guitars over golf! Focus.
Scary Tones with Uncle Tone hehe
