I don't understand the huge fuss of "Oh my god MOP is so hard to play with all down picks!" Like I've been playing for three years and even I can do it.
Bueno es momento de agarrar i guitarra acústica y aplicar los consejos
Mike you taught me to play with AoG and I love your content, you are an awesome instructor and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!! I also want to recommend everyone watching this I sign up for Art of Guitar on Mikes website (this is not a sponsored ad but I have used a lot of online lesson systems and IMO Art of Guitar is the best). After using AoG for 2 years Mikes system took me from knowing a couple open chords to the point where I now have my own students that I am currently teaching thing like Master of Puppets. The yearly subscription is half the price of 1 month of lessons at almost any music school. One thing I really love about the AoG system is the lessons are arranged so you just follow them in order and don't have to guess what you should learn next because each lesson builds on the last. If you want a solid foundation to build great playing and beyond this program is for you. I am thinking about signing up for my third year because there are extreemely advanced concepts that can take you to super shredder status and everything is explained by Mike in a super easy to understand manner and then you apply the skills in challenge songs BUY IT NOW…P.S. Mike if you ever sell that Charvel (if you still have it) please LMK @howard_the_kangaroo on IG. (sorry for the essay but I just wanted to thank you, feel free to use any part of this for the Art of Guitar website)
Yo on the 1st part i realised something your guitar kinda has a deep bassy tone is it just the amp tone settings or amp brand or guitar type because i own a trashy no brand amp amd a clifton strat and the bass on my is on 10 gain is on 10 treble is on 10
its a fast song that is very hard for beginners.. the fast palm mutes will get people and the fast playing is fatiguing.
Hi, I love your videos… Could you please tell me the best arm position playing a guitar with Floyd rose, please ?
very good!????????????????
Thanks for your tips , always wondered how those young guys could play so well so soon, when I needed 25 years and still don't play !
Im trying to learn master of puppets at the moment.
Its completely frustrating me.
I have a daily down stroke routine as well….
why do you keep adjusting the volume knob? im just new im sorry
this soo awesome!!!
ik it pisses alot of real metal fans, and guitarists off that stranger things is the reason why kids wanna learn metallica songs and this but the way i look at it is, if it makes kid wanna listen to Actual music played with real instruments and better yet to learn to play guitar? im all for it!, its very similar to in the 80s every kid wanted to skateboard cause of back to the future! ive been a metal fan and fell in love with guitar when i was 8 in 2005 it was from my dad showing me Gnr n i saw slash playing a les paul in sweet child of mine n i was like yup thats who i wanna be!
woah that charvel is cool
I can play the full rhythm guitar parts and the James solo at 6 months idk if that’s good or not
Thanks man.
Need that tone ????
What type of guitar is that? Im thinking about getting one like that
Just bought a guitar, and yes, I started with master of puppets, I think I need to calm down and start with something easier xd
i use the finger belof the middle finger idk the name of it but it felt easier to me
Dude. I collect Charvels. The fact you’re rocking a toothpaste logo, is kickass.
Can i have tips on the second part
I think I am sucks at guitar despite play for 15 year.
Can you please share how you have this tone? What are you playing thru?
One of the things that helped me Leanred this song was to learn it with alternate picking first, this allowed me to learn what the fretting hand was doing and and actually learn the parts at full speed.
This also helped me stay motivated to build it the speed to downpick it after learning it
I aint here from stranger things
I realized that for the first time, I tried playing Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast opening riff along with the actual track for the first time and realized that the down picking is just as difficult as the down picking of master of puppets. Just when I think I’m getting somewhere I realize I have miles to go
I've been playing this song for 20 years…hitting the 1st chorus is a much needed break lol not too bad after that
I can see behind you that you have the top panel for my all time favorite video game, "Robotron" do you have that arcade or just that panel piece to it.
what guitar is this? i really want one
I love how he just skips that riff. Lol. The unecessary fast one you dont realize how fast it is until you have to play it.
I NEVER REALISED HE PULLED OFF OF THE FRETBOARD, Kirks sounds so fucking cool not mousy sounding at all sounds like some screaming in terror Kirks style is forever amazing
0:48 Is that Psychotron I hear?
I had no idea about any of this! Just picked it up since I feel more comfortable now to start learning harder songs and was having a lot of trouble figuring it all out.
Thanks a bunch, I'll be following what you have covered from now on!
May i know what rig you are using?
Spent a month working my way through the intro. First building accuracy, then building speed. Finally happy with it, moved on to the main riff. Then I realized that I had learned the intro (descending notes) without the mute, mute, ring, mute, mute ring. Now it sounds right! Thank you!
Jeez. I bought the Master of puppets song book in 92 and have been playing this song for 30 years (I can hold my own). I watched this video because I was looking up how to achieve the albums tone and stumbled across this video and decided to watch it. So you were doing some stuff that was not transcribed in this book (And i pulled the book out and double checked). There were a couple things you did that sounded, i don't know, closer or better. I mean I've played along with the record for years and thought I sounded pretty bang on up until now. So now I'm trying it out your way. But I am an old dog learning a new trick here. Anyways, great video, I wish subscribe and check out more of your videos.
what tune is it in
my only electric guitar I can’t use rn, and I miss playing it right after watching any of your videos and now I don’t have anything to do :/
❤❤❤
4:43 this is literally me but its improving slowly
downstroke has always been easy for me, but the palm muting is hard
Ive been playing for about 6 years and i think i will need another 10 to even think about playing this solo 😀
after a few months of practicing these techniques, i'm playing this song perfectly at (almost) the same tempo as them. Truly, you are one of my guitar sensei's. thank you.
i got 1 practice
