  • I don't understand the huge fuss of "Oh my god MOP is so hard to play with all down picks!" Like I've been playing for three years and even I can do it.

  • Mike you taught me to play with AoG and I love your content, you are an awesome instructor and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!! I also want to recommend everyone watching this I sign up for Art of Guitar on Mikes website (this is not a sponsored ad but I have used a lot of online lesson systems and IMO Art of Guitar is the best). After using AoG for 2 years Mikes system took me from knowing a couple open chords to the point where I now have my own students that I am currently teaching thing like Master of Puppets. The yearly subscription is half the price of 1 month of lessons at almost any music school. One thing I really love about the AoG system is the lessons are arranged so you just follow them in order and don't have to guess what you should learn next because each lesson builds on the last. If you want a solid foundation to build great playing and beyond this program is for you. I am thinking about signing up for my third year because there are extreemely advanced concepts that can take you to super shredder status and everything is explained by Mike in a super easy to understand manner and then you apply the skills in challenge songs BUY IT NOW…P.S. Mike if you ever sell that Charvel (if you still have it) please LMK @howard_the_kangaroo on IG. (sorry for the essay but I just wanted to thank you, feel free to use any part of this for the Art of Guitar website)

  • ik it pisses alot of real metal fans, and guitarists off that stranger things is the reason why kids wanna learn metallica songs and this but the way i look at it is, if it makes kid wanna listen to Actual music played with real instruments and better yet to learn to play guitar? im all for it!, its very similar to in the 80s every kid wanted to skateboard cause of back to the future! ive been a metal fan and fell in love with guitar when i was 8 in 2005 it was from my dad showing me Gnr n i saw slash playing a les paul in sweet child of mine n i was like yup thats who i wanna be!

  • I can play the full rhythm guitar parts and the James solo at 6 months idk if that’s good or not

  • One of the things that helped me Leanred this song was to learn it with alternate picking first, this allowed me to learn what the fretting hand was doing and and actually learn the parts at full speed.

This also helped me stay motivated to build it the speed to downpick it after learning it

  • I realized that for the first time, I tried playing Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast opening riff along with the actual track for the first time and realized that the down picking is just as difficult as the down picking of master of puppets. Just when I think I’m getting somewhere I realize I have miles to go

  • I can see behind you that you have the top panel for my all time favorite video game, "Robotron" do you have that arcade or just that panel piece to it.

  • I love how he just skips that riff. Lol. The unecessary fast one you dont realize how fast it is until you have to play it.

  • I had no idea about any of this! Just picked it up since I feel more comfortable now to start learning harder songs and was having a lot of trouble figuring it all out.
Thanks a bunch, I'll be following what you have covered from now on!

  • Spent a month working my way through the intro. First building accuracy, then building speed. Finally happy with it, moved on to the main riff. Then I realized that I had learned the intro (descending notes) without the mute, mute, ring, mute, mute ring. Now it sounds right! Thank you!

  • Jeez. I bought the Master of puppets song book in 92 and have been playing this song for 30 years (I can hold my own). I watched this video because I was looking up how to achieve the albums tone and stumbled across this video and decided to watch it. So you were doing some stuff that was not transcribed in this book (And i pulled the book out and double checked). There were a couple things you did that sounded, i don't know, closer or better. I mean I've played along with the record for years and thought I sounded pretty bang on up until now. So now I'm trying it out your way. But I am an old dog learning a new trick here. Anyways, great video, I wish subscribe and check out more of your videos.
