No one has mentioned the anchor point before. This is super helpful! I was doing the opposite, especially with a c chord.

And stick with it. If you're all fingers and thumbs to start with, it's normal. Everyone goes through that at the beginning. Marty said that on a video I watched early on and it stuck with me. Because it's true. And it is so worth the initial struggle.
