I'm in a band playing bass but find it hard because the keyboard and drums are too loud for me to hear my bass any tips it has been set up and new strings
Love your videos. Thank you so much for the help.
I bought a Ibanez sdgr jazz bass and I like it a lot but it does not sound as good as that fender.
I am a big fan of John Lodge so maybe that is why the fender sounds better to me.
Got a old swr workingman's 15 combo to learn with but my friend says I need a real rig like a fender rumble.
Do you think a new amp would make that much difference?
What do you think of those tiny amps?
Great help as always Dan, really appreciate your effort. The bass line on the 25th minute you just made up on the spot? I reeeally like this one, trying to learn it by slowing down the video to 0.25 speed but still cant see it properly haha ur too good man!
Recording yourself is so helpful you can critique your sound ,style tempo everything !
I use a tascam dr-05 about $90, cheap and easy to use
Been an enormous help to my playing
Thanks great info????????
Great, SOLID information!!! (Old, self taught country bass player seeking more information on how to get better) I'm no beginner, but every single tip in this video is useful!!! (except the different scale modalities Fight me 🙂
I’ve been trying to introduce a friend into the world of music, and as a bassist first, we started on that. This lesson is perfectly formatted for like lesson 2 or 3 and I can’t believe how low the numbers are on this video. This is great tuition.
Dan you’re AWESOME, thanks for your advice!
You found a magic bass with that one.Sounds awesome.
Hi Dan, can you recommend an inexpensive drum machine for practice/timing?
How do you get that raspy sound. Do you use a preamp of any sort of pedal like Sansamp para-driver? Any suggestions? Love that sound.
Spot on this . Something new and some we all know but need a sharp reminder ( like having ones bass well set up). How'd I miss that,ya know? A useful lesson here. Also I own your exercise book mentioned and there's a lifetime of interesting things to keep practicing fresh.I find your books invaluable.
How to get or avail your ebook by the way I'm in Dubai UAE
Great tutorial thanks 4 sharing info
Thanks for the tips.
Great tips and teaching! This stuff is so intuitive and helpful!
trying to find the video link for the bass setup video that you spoke of around the 8:10 – 8:30 seconds markers..
No.15, i've been thinking about this … I think i need to buy another bass (just a cheap one) to be left uncased in living room easily accessible. Many times i don't practice because i need to open my case, connecting the cables when i only have 20 mins to play and too many other things to do in a day.
1340 starts excellent point. This whole video is pure gold. I will use it as reference.
Thank you for the Tips……Your awesome Teacher keep the videos coming ????????
Can’t believe this has less than 1k views. Great video, very intuitive. Greetings from california!
Loved this video. Just picked up the bass and I will try to apply these tips. Thank you!
Absolutely love this lesson! Greetings from Singapore!
Another great informative video Dan. Lots of great tips and information to digest.
I wasn’t aware you had a book out. Where can I read about it? Does it come in a physical copy as I’m not a massive fan of pdf formats.
Is there a good reason not to pluck with the ring finger as well? I've been instinctively throwing it into the mix and I can't think of any good reason to try to stop, other than "everybody else says not too". Seems to me like more fingers= more versatility
Great Info!!
