MXR Fullbore Metal through a Roland JC-120 absolutely rocks! Sounds almost as good through a vintage Yamaha G-100 amp as well.

Nobody knew the metal zone made the bass sound abhorrently huge. I used that trick in 2018 2019.

Get aby pedal run Mt 2 Metal Zone into return fx loop part bypassing preamp of the amp. Run your clean signal to into front of the amp. You still have massive distortion without losing bottom end.
