MUST HAVE 80’s Tone QUAD CORTEX
Whilst away on tour I put together MY version of the classic sound used by Dan Huff , Micheal Thompson and Micheal Landau during the 80’s
using the Quad Cortex
The preset is on my Cortex Cloud Robharris2 and it’s called Super Clean

Hi Rob great content as always – could you save these as captures rather than presets please as presets are not accessible on Nano Cortex ?
You need an active circuit and the ability to run your pickups in parallel if you want to achieve that sound
Beautiful tones! Really helpful in my quest to recreate this sound! Also: the 229T chorus is based on the TC Electronic 2290 dynamic delay rack unit. Which had some nice chorus presets.

man, thats exactly what I was lookin for. putting together tones for a 80´s tribute band. that comes in so handy. what I came up with didn't even come close to this. I got goosebumps the first second you played. cheers mate. just love it!

Rob – fantastic job here. Thank you for the walk-through and for sharing it. There are a few great-sounding efforts knocking around on the interwebs, but they tend to be more convoluted. This is the super simple and efficient.
PS: I picked up my first Tyler in the last year, and it definitely helps get closer to the sound when using tube amps and a normal pedalboard (i.e. one chorus pedal, one delay, one verb etc) in the absence of this more forensic, multi-chorus DI approach. I may however put n EQ back on the board – the difference your smiley EQ made was striking.
