They’re heavy.
Just because Gibson and Fender overcharge for their guitars, PRS has to follow suit? Yeah, it's overhyped. Chibson proves you can make a great guitar for a fraction of the cost of a Luxury brand.
Yes, they really are that good – and surprisingly inexpensive! I've owned a number of PRS guitars, including one early 1990os and Core series, this one is easily one the the best PRS I've ever played. I'm very happy with the one I bought.
best channel on you tube,,, love your show……????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
$3,500 difference becasue its made in USA …???????? Seriously ? Different pickups, Minor differences … Got to be out of your Mind to buy the USA one…… or just have nothing to do with your money..????????????????????????????????????????.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Technically it's coil-splitting, though the two are incorrectly used interchangeably more often than not. Coil splitting is just taking one of the two coils, coil tapping is wiring a separate lead to the middle of one coil so you can cut the windings in half for a thinner, lower-output sound. Tapping's not used much but imo it should be. Highly entertaining video as always!
Nice! Eh! m/
I love this guys humor. Instant Sub
I’m not even one for gold guitars but from both the sound and description of how it plays def would hope to find one to play one day to experience that.
Manice again!! ????????????????????????????????
I own only a Fender American Strat. I have a Fender Pro Junior amp. I always thought PRS made excellent instruments but I didn't care for the aesthetics. I was at Chicago Music Exchange and they had this PRS DGT SE in the goldtop. It's a fantastic guitar and I bought it right there. That was October 2024. It's March 1st and the guitar is still intonated perfectly. I highly recommend it.
"I love gooooooooold" -Goldmember
I too got the SE DGT gold top. I've had it for about a year, and it has become my favorite guitar I own. I own more expensive guitars, but it's the best playing and sounding one I have (granted I did swap a MannMade USA Trem and new pickups in). Its an absolute beast!
After you peeled off the clear plastic in that suspense sequence, is the guitar no longer Certified Open Box?
I’ve got one and really like it. For me the hype is real.
I made it to 2:16 until I got completely disinterested. You are just now discovering David Grissom and the PRS DGT SE Guitar? I actually bought mine years ago with my own hard earned money and can’t tell you emphatically that it is a great guitar at a great value! I trust you came to the same conclusion with your free sample.
Also Acceptable answers are.. East and West Pickups depending on how You are Standing.. and Don't Stop Believing !
P.R.S. SE ce24 sandblasted limited edition in green….. overhyped for sure!
P.R.S. guitars….. all overhyped! ????????????
Even if these guitars are good I don't like the way they look. I would never buy one for that reason. The body is weird and unattractive and the headstock looks like it belongs on a bass.
I have one of these and the NF3… PRS guitars are awesome.
And you think it is a gold top but it's been in the bathroom ???????????? It's aged yellow ????
I like how you always play a bit of Silverchair every time you test out a guitar.
I have 6 guitars: Ibanez RG550, Fender Telecaster, Cort, Yamaha, and the DGT SE. It's a fascinating and soul-touching instrument. I paid 1200 euros due to shipping costs to my country, but the thing is, it’s worth every penny.
I'm not really into PRS guitars, not sure why, but if I did decide to get one it would be that one.
Fair warning: I am a PRS fan, so that does color my opinion.
The DGT SE is a whole lot of instrument for the money. I’ve been fortunate enough to play several different DGTs – both core and SE – and they are uniformly terrific, if the neck carve and pickup voicing are to your taste.
Own one, use it all the time on a variety of music styles, highly recommended
Any hype about the Gretsch streamliner hollow body guitar is an understatement. Mated it with a Vox Tonelab and found PERFECTION.
I've had mine for almost a year now and it's one of my favorite guitars, it plays amazing and sounds even better. Absolutely love the pickups
So. It’s not a “push-pull”, it’s really a “pull-push”. I think “splapping” is a great descriptor. Anyway, these are excellent guitars and not just in a “for the price” type of context. I have core, S2 and SE guitars. While you really do get a different experience with a core instrument, it’s mostly about level of refinement.
No. Open Box IS a return. When it was a Demo, they specifically say so. I bought a D'Angelico demo model and loved it. But it was listed as a Demo. But as long as it has a warranty and is returnable like any other guitar, it's no worries.
Landon, are you playing my Gold SE DGT again? 😉 Hope you like it!
Landon can I suggest a review of some guitars from Artist?
A de-sign fooooor life
I bought one but the QC issues bothered me. Frets weren't level, and the nut wasn't cut well. The neck humbucker was too woofy and I wasn't a fan of the volume lnob swap. Even with everything fixed I just didn't vibe with it. ????
PRS guitars are straight up ugly. There, I said it.
Landon, prep before you go on air.
I've tried a couple PRS SE guitars and just couldn't bond with them. If I ever try again, it will likely be the DGT.
My gripe with PrS is that they could easily add the top carves and volume and tone knob carves to models outside of the CORE line and they refuse to make these features available when they wouldn’t take but an extra 2 minutes per model to cut in a CNC machine. These features cost an extra £4000. It’s absolutely ridiculous andI won’t be a party to it. Fender gives a Strat and it’s a full fledged Strat for less than £1000. They don’t mince details at the cost of several grand. Plus, after years of watching Paul in interviews, I think he’s obnoxious. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
A George Costanza reference from Canada? Is that legal?
Missed Seinfeld opportunity: “It’s gold, Jerry! Gold!”
On my second PRS se now, they great value for cost…
Although the cost is creeping up. These are definitely enough guitar for my skill level. Well made, detail to fit and finish..
You could be playing literally any guitar with humbuckers and practically no-one would know the difference between it and every other humbucker equipped guitar. And when you add distortion and a little bit of reverb, there is no difference.
So, buy what you like, have it set up the way you like, and have the frets dressed if need be.
4:18 does pouncing on birds by the light of a crescent moon count?
I bought an SE Custom last week and I can already tell it's going to be one of my favourite instruments for a long time.
And I already have a new welt on the very tip my picking paw so you might be on to something about the string gauge… it's hitting me differently 😀
Gorgeous guitar. Sounds pretty damn good too.
Yes, the internet is a bunch of liars. They are hyped up. Google it. I need another PRS. The one I have is too valuable to play, 1992 Artist II, numbered.
You are too funny. Anyway I own 28 guitars. My PRS SE 594 is one of my favorites. Prefer it over my Les Paul "Fretless Wonder". PRS SE is easy to play. Solid build. Sounds great. Well worth the money. A gigging musicians guitar.
I got one of the very first ones that made it to the US as I preordered from Sweetwater the morning it was announced. It was literally perfect in every way. One of my best friend's didn't get here for another 5 months and had all kinds of issues. He loved it but didn't want to fix everything so he sold his and I sold him mine. Fantastic guitar I just had too many.
I had to subscribe because you remind me of Bob and Doug McKenzie.
Overhyped! First one I sent back as the neck was fitted so badly my yech could not lower action. The replacement electronics had a problem and neck wasnt great. So build quality is suspect! I sold it and will not buy PRS SE again unless something changes????????
