  • How do you guys feel about this genre? Would you say Shoegaze is evolving for the better or worse?

  • As someone who's music is super inspired by shoegaze but doesn't sound enough like it to not get dragged by the old guard, i want to say you rock, and keep it up. Your tone and song writing is dope. And no one has to like it, but they dont have to interact either. Live and let live and listen to whatever you want.

  • Dude just ignore the idiots! I wish I had your skills. I love what you do and I'm an original shoegazer who had his mind blown hearing Ride as a 17 year old in 1989! I've seen most of the first wave bands but recognise that the genre has to grow and adapt to stay vital and relevant. Keep doing what you're doing????

  • How can you be a “gatekeeper” if you’re showing how you write, mix and produce music? , “Shoegaze” covers a wide spectrum, the aggressive sound of Swervedriver were considered shoegaze, at the other end you have the almost ambient guitar sounds of Slowdive et al.
I was lucky enough to see many of the so called shoegaze bands in the late 80s early 90s + Slowdive, Ride, Pale Saints, Swervedriver etc.. I’d throw Mercury Rev’s first album Yerself Is steam in there too. I’d consider anything with a droning guitar sounds, and layers of guitar texture, some psychedelia, and a classic song structure buried deep in there somewhere as shoegaze, but it was also a look coined by the music press to describe musicians who avoided interaction with the crowd, the more introverted who would prefer to stare at their ever growing pedal board, than the crowd, we can’t all be Henry Rollins!
I find your videos very informative, and when I finally get my studio space set up will be looking to produce my own music, so this is a great place to start.

  • Sounds more like Atmospheric Black Metal. The sound and mixing was very good. I personally did not care for the song. You still got my thumbs up for your creativity. Keep making music, bro.

  • It's definitely shoegaze not to care what old people think. LOL. I like everything I've heard you do btw. But I'm old, too.

  • As a fellow shoegazer, I love your work and sometimes your video actually helps me in some ways! Keep it up mate

  • hot take: The modern style known as "shoegaze" needs a new label so its not confused with "shoegaze" itself.

  • I never leave a comment, but this time… (I'm at the half of the video) I just can't bear this gatekeepers, as you're saying, yeah, do something ??? IDK, you're stuff is inspiring at least. I take what I can from your videos (references for gear, chords progression, mixing techniques…) and I'm going my own way. This is what's great about this platform : you can do everything you want, borrow something, just enjoy… Sorry for the (lack of) structure in this comment, it's the end of the day and the quoted comment really pissed me of.
Great job, love what you're doing. Keep going. Maybe I'll leave another comment. Or not. Or just something goofy. Not really sure.

  • I think too many modern bands mixed up shoegaze with other genres like math rock, emo and deftones sounding music. I love the 2010s shoegaze era where all bands sounds unique. Like you could tell the differences between ringo deathstarr, whirr and narrowhead(sorry for bad english)
