I Tested 1-Star Temu Guitar Pedals

Testing out if these 1-Star Budget Guitar Pedals from Temu are deserving of their bad reviews. A wide range of effects from Distortion, Chorus to a WEIRD Reverb pedal.

Overall I’m pretty Impressed with most of the pedals, they offer a decent sound quality and would be very suitable for beginner Guitarists.

0:00 Pedal Line Up

2:04 Distortion Pedal
3:46 Chorus Pedal
5:50 Reverb Pedal
6:25 Spring Reverb

  • That was definitely one of the weirdest Reverb pedals i've ever tried.

Let me know if any surprised you. Thanks for watching!

  • 11 bucks makes that delay a 10 out of 10. even budget delays tend to cost more than distortions and fuzz

  • Don’t buy anything from Temu….you’re buying cheap shitty imitations that won’t last long

  • At first I thought you were special needs, then I realized you're just Australian. The US Dream pedals are clones of the Suhr Riot pedal. They're excellent. I own a Joyo version of the US Dream and I really enjoy it.

  • I bought the Ocean reverb for $19 several years ago. I like the room reverb with my harmonica. I don't play guitar well enough to know know if it just average for guitar.

  • The US Dream is a Joyo clone of a Suhr Riot. Same as the chorus with a fist on it…Joyo clone of the old Ibanez analog chorus CS9. I forget what the Analog Delay is…but they're all mini Joyo clones.

  • The Temu Sonic Cake pedals have impressed me the most. Those go for around 30 bucks. They have an Octave Pedal, harmonizer pedal and an envelope filter, that sound like Boss pedals from the early 2000s and late 90s.

  • I tried making pedals they literally cost pennies to make yourself. It shouldn't be surprising that you got a decent pedal for 11 bucks

  • That shimmer effect sounds like the kind of sound Steve Vai paid $$$$ to get from an Eventide rack DSP back in the day! ????

  • I usually find pedals that change your tone are worth paying more for, but post distortion/overdrive, ah, whatever. After that, you're paying for weird and specific options that nobody will ever notice, and for physical durability, which is only useful if you're a touring musician and not a dirty peasant hobbiest wanking in their rooms and maybe playing some jams in your friend's basement. If you're not doing studio recording where your tone will be captured for all of eternity, and not having your gear thrown around on a bus or plane, there's no point in paying more than $100 for distortion, and $30-$50 max for post-distortion fx.

  • Ok, i have a DAWless setup with a patch bay. I can actually afford to do real stereo effects with these. Just buy 2 of each.

  • I got pedals that looked just like those from Aliexpress. I thought they were OK. I hate to tell you, most of a pedal's cost is the R&D or the hand assembly. Cranking out mass pedals on a non-patented circuit is easy and cheap to do in Asia.

  • Really enjoyed the video thanks!

I've been playing a LONG time and own a LOT of pedals most if which were expensive. Over the past couple years though I have been building out smaller boards with budget pedals just for fun and see what kinds if sounds they have to offer. Some of them are actually pretty good (Donner Yellow Fall Delay for exammple).
I agree with your take on each of these pedals and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. You've earned a new subscriber. ????

  • Lol I think they set the shimmer to the wrong intervals. The spring effect was a copy of a 65 reverb but wow that was way to much CLANG. Nice vid!

  • If the price is one dollar and the pedal is not good, it's a waste of one dollar.

  • are you using a piezo pickup or something that you have such an acoustic-like sound?

  • One factory in China makes them all with no graphics on them, then other companies buy them in huge lots and put their own graphics and name on it and sell them to unsuspecting guitarist…donner, mooer, rowin…they are all the same pedal.

  • thank you for the video! I've been a fan of Chinese pedals for the past few years

  • I've got a "US Dream" that appears to be by a different company but is also a purple distortion box, and I'm pretty sure that one's a reasonably accurate clone of a Suhr Riot, which is like a $200 pedal.

  • That reverb pedal was truly awful. I've tried quite a few cheap reverbs and that was the worst I've ever heard.
