Thhe real difference in basses comes down to the articulation and note separation from the E string without co.promising the tone across strings.
P Bass will always be king but man does the TBird crush high gain/distorted sounds. The growl on that sucker!

These comparison videos are all just weird and I think something to talk about you can use anything. Everything is good. Nobody cares. Nobody can tell the difference. It’s all in your hands. It’s all in the song if it’s a good song, nobody cares about which instrument you’re playing.
They all sound great, of course, but to me it's MM > TB > P > J
You are the first person I've heard that makes a TB sound bad in a mix. It's a little disingenuous to say "same settings for each bass" when 2/4 basses have 2 pickups and they're clearly not all equalized in volume, the precision is like 2x louder than everything else.

I play a stingray just becauS i had one gifted to me. I actually have a squier paranormal rascal coming in that im excited to punk it up with.
P Bass sounds clearly, deep and powerfull.
Nothing growls like a P Bass.
