In this loop pedal shootout video, we compare the main specifications of Boss’s 3 newest loop stations. The Rc-5 is the most compact pedal, but still boasts a huge range of features such as 13 hours of stereo looping, a built in drum machine, 99 memory patches and USB connectivity, the RC-10 features all of this but also has a much more comprehensive drum rhythm section, whilst the RC-500 is the flagship model featuring 2 separate loop tracks and both microphone and instrument inputs.
Although they each offer something a little different, all of these next generation looper pedals feature 32-bit digital processing, a huge improvement in sound quality over the older models. So if you were confused which loop pedal to buy, hopefully we can help you decide which of these models is the best loop pedal for you.

I've had MANY loopers, three this year alone….. boss my favorite. I've purchased two RC-5 about a year apart. This second one seems to have a volume issue with the drum tracks being excessivly LOUD! since I never experienced the problem with the first RC-5 ….. I'm gluessing the second one might be damaged? I have tried finding a global volume control with no avail. I ran a factory reset twice, with no change. I hate to sell it and pass on the problem to someone else, I also hate to take a $175 dollar loss! Any thoughts?
Your demo and review videos are great, man. Could you possibly do a new video with the RC-600? You you a much better job of keeping to the point and showing off the capabilities than most others!

Looping has been a feature of my playing since the early 1970s. I rarely use rhythmic phrases, preferring to make ambient loops as a part of my writing. These all seem to feature timed looping. I haven’t tried any of the Boss units to see if they play nice with my looping style. I’d appreciate any comments.

When recording multiple loops can you go back and turn one of and on intermittently? Or once it’s recorded and playing is there no way to turn it off without turning all the loops off?
