  • I’m very tempted with one of these just for a different feel and sound..but I’m 54 and not a beginner lol! So maybe not for me?

  • The back and sides of flamenco guitars are made with lower density wood such as cypress-a member of the cedar family-and the neck itself is relatively thin. In fact, the entire body of the guitar is thinner overall. The strings of a flamenco guitar are also positioned lower than a classical guitar to allow the guitarist to press down on the strings quicker to suit the faster tempo of flamenco music. They are not the same as Spanish "classical guitars".

  • Well-built cheapies are best for beginners. Take it to a luthier for a pro set up to greatly improve the playability while learning.

  • Don't forget another great use case for cheap classicals – take them with you into nature or parks and rock the sh out of it, use it as a drum and so on and if it breaks it is easily replaced and no tears need to be shed.

  • I just got home from teaching a student who received one of these during the week…wow! I am so shocked at how great these guitars are for the money!

Eastcoast is definitely the brand I will recommend to all of my students from here on out 🙂

  • Just wish I could learn to play the guitar, but just to late for me now lol, plus with arthritis in my hands, Oh well I will just have to keep watching the vids and dream. Keep up the great work Captain and Pete, Oh and Pete I don't think these come in purple lol.

  • When I "learned" playing the guitar, I only had one of those really shitty garbage Nylons with horrible intonation, barely holding tune for a few minutes and that was super frustrating. I dind't know at that time it was really just a crappy guitar so with my first money many years later I decided to upgrade to something that was vastly different and a lot more fun to play (Ovation Celebrity Deluxe) and that really gave me the boost to actually step out of the bloody beginner circle. Again many years later I decided to help my little sister with her guitar game and since my Ovation was not ideal to play for her I went to a store and learned what a real Nylon string guitar can play and sound like and bought her a Höfner guitar which is now back with me. It's not only a truly beatiful guitar but it also sounds lovely — I often find myself reaching for it and have also used it as a travel guitar. What you're doing with EastCoast Guitars (bringing decent but affordable guitars to the people) is very commendable; shitty guitars not only waste everyones time and drives beginners away from guitar playing, they're also a waste of resources!

  • Hello there! I was wondering is it possible to check on Yamaha Pacifica 311 and 611 series?

  • I completely ignored everything you said and instead was transfixed on the seemingly random numbers in the upper hand right corner. The beautiful candy red numbers, sometimes showing 50.2 and 79.1 and then oscillating randomly.
