Which guitar tone is better? With or without a compressor pedal?
Which clean tone sounded better to you? Here’s what I used:
The base clean guitar tone is my @gocguitars Illumina Modern running into the @VictoryAmps The Copper tube preamp pedal, running through the effects loop of the Peavey Invective.MH, going into the Two Notes Captor 8, and finally into the Kings Cab Impulse Responses.
Then I switch on the @KeeleyElectronicsEdmond Compressor Plus compression pedal that gives me the SAUCE. I can’t get over the sustain and how it brings out the harmonics and really lets them shine.
What would you do different for this clean guitar tone?

The compressor sounded fuller, but I feel like blending the 2 tones would sound sick, maybe boost the highs on the uncompressed to lean into the higher sound
Ive played for 20 years in 40 states, and I honestly can't tell a significant difference. The harmonics were a little louder, but is that a $x worth of difference?
The compressed tone is slightly louder so sounds “better”
I love compressors!! They are almost like cheating, it makes things like that a lot easier to play

hi ryan, well played. How do you like the turning system of this modern model? Is it easy to turn and stable.?Will it take a long time to replace string? How long it take to change string for you?
Commenting as a bassist for a bass compression is a must, for heavy distorted guitars the amp does most of the compression but if you want long sustained chords and endless sustain on lead a compressor would do the heavy lifting rather than the amp and for clean guitar it is also close to a must as seen here, dialing and blending it to taste is also a must to let the natural dynamics, the touch show itself on the recordings
Definitely with the Compressor.
