I actually ditched everything with an EQ on it recently. Turns out the one in my bass is good enough.
The Noble is like a pedal for people who think flour is a spice.
Good review. I listened it while working. There is absolute no physical and real life differences? im sorry) I would just use the "nothing pedal". If its home recording – -use the magic "Hi-z" input of the audio interface. If its a gig in a small club – forget about the Di signals – local guys have it all. A 30 bucks EQ pedal from behringer + 30 bucks behringer compressor would do more helping you to finв the sound and the "feel" . Lets stop listen with our eyes) Cheers.
The Neptunium is much brighter and open sounding than the Nobel. I wouldn’t buy either
I sold my Neptunium. I prefer my RNDI to be honest
The soft compression on the Noble is pretty much the selling point. Feels like it slightly leans up the sub bass as well to me.
I don’t use the EQ personally but it is pretty broad and pleasing
Having had a Nobel for a few years and paying a ridiculous amount of money for it in the UK I must say I was completely underwhelmed by it . Was very similar to a redd Di . But I found depending on the bass it made some bases sound better and older vintage fender pickups (precbs) sound thin and hollow. I just couldn’t get it to load the pickups properly .
After many hours months and years of recording I found I much preferred a Rupert neve designs RNDi going into a neve 1073 literally every single time !
In the end I sold it for a ridiculous amount of money in an auction on eBay and funny enough I knew the bass player who bought it . And after a few months he sold it too ????????????
IMHO, Noble is the most overrated piece of gear ever made for bass. Good test however.
I recently sold my Noble and I am having absolutely no regrets. I was considering the Neptunium, but backed out when they were available last time, also no regrets. I had the Capo, both the o.g. and the Tim-version, sold them both with no regrets. I like the Caveman Audio BP1 Compact.
I absolutely adored my Neptunium. But when I got my CAPO I sold my Neptunium haha.
That being said, I may need to snag one again since Nathan is only making a finite amount.
For the record, I prefer the Neptunium over the Noble but in a mix I don't think you'd be able to differentiate.
Didn’t even realize Sushi Box was making Noble clones…very interesting. My Noble is the one piece of gear that I’ll take to the grave with me, but it’s nice to know there’s a smaller pedal format that could be taken along to gigs as a backup just in case.
