  • I had watched a few demos of this pedal. There are quite a few good sounding preamp/DI pedals in this price range… this EHX Battalion, TC Electronics SpectraDrive, NUX MLD, Palmer Pocket Bass Amp, MXR M80 and M81, etc., etc.
I'm pretty sure after watching and listening to this demo I'm going with the Battalion. I heard tones in there that are exactly what I'm searching for. Thank you for the most excellent demo.
I'm digging the retro early 80's video game look of it as well.

  • Owned one of these for 18 months, in the first 11 months the DI (XLR) started making a static noise. I changed leads, power pack, rooms, instruments, but each gig it got worse and was especially bad in my IEM's. I ended up swapping it in my signal chain with another DI pedal and just used the 1/4 inch jack. No problem. But then the LED light for the bypass (green one) stopped working properly 2 months later, and doesn't react to being on or off. This occurred after 13 months, so warranty was out. I wouldn't recommend one of these. I had a Tech 21 SansAmp and it lasted over 10 years.

  • Thanks for such a comprehensive review! If I had the ability to create the perfect bass preamp, THIS would be it! It has everything I want, with noting I don't. It's a complete pedalboard in a box.
