The Martin sounds slightly better… but which one Plays the best? I suspect the Taylor is more forgiving.

lol. The strength with which opinions are held is generally inversely proportional to the justification for holding said opinions. In other words, guitar aficionados are over the top in their preferences and prejudices about brands. Give me a break.

They all sound amazing. The Gibson J-45 sounds so familiar and iconic. The D-18 sounds rich and full. The Taylor sounds excellent. I'd have a tough time picking between the J-45 and the D-18. Real tough.
Taylor wins, second Martín, AND the third Gibson, but I love the three ones❤

Taylor sounded very metallic compared to the Gibson & Martin.
I thought the Gibson filled the gap between each strum much more than the Martin and way more than the Taylor.
I’m surprised, but I liked the Gibson far more than the other two.
Gibson is the best, Martin is one inch behind, Taylor is just crap.
It would be interesting to see them compared in terms of dinamics. I am no acoustic player, but i think a good acoustic has to be evaluated with light and hard strumming

Its the most hard thing to find a guitar that suits your own ears and fits to your needs. I was positive that i found in Martin D-18 but Gibson stole the show.
There really is no “best”, it’s personal preference. If you do studio work, you would know that you need many guitars to be able to deliver the sound that the artists and or engineers request. The best is what you, yourself like. Be happy.
J-45 best-looking guitar, Martin; best-sounding guitar.
Great choices these 3. I went with the 314ce myself.

I would love to see people to a blind sound test on these because the Taylor in my opinion destroys both. People choose Martin based on bias.
