  • I love that we live in a time where the average guy can wear $1 glasses he bought for $300 and still feel like he’s got his own exclusive style. A $50 guitar sells for $200, and a $400 guitar can be flipped for $5,000. We're talking about mass-produced items—wood, machine-made parts, a few electronics—like they're cutting-edge inventions. People driving Bentleys don’t go around justifying why they didn’t buy a Toyota, yet they also avoid wearing mass-produced clothes and shoes.

Everything you see at Walmart or Amazon? It's mostly copied and mass-produced in China or other developing countries, thanks to Western investment. If you can afford a $5,000 guitar, good for you. Just know there are people out there using $150,000 guitars purely as decoration in every room.
The people I know love music and respect the instrument, no matter the price tag. Sure, some products go through safety testing, but beyond that, obsessing over cost or brand is just ignorance. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • I'd sand off the logo, repaint it black, change the bridge, then give it away. I ordered the Harley Benton version and it also had weak pickups and a bad nut, but at least it had a better bridge that could be intonated. Got it on sale for only $160

  • Please do not smash this guitar, instead ask ilon musk to carry it to outer space (as a kind of "true" or "great" colab )

  • Two of the worst click bait videos I've seen from your channel. Get back to tone. You hate fakes but you bought a fake?

  • Why wouldn’t you set it up at least to see how it sounds? Even brand new gibsons aren’t always shipped with a good setup. Especially in the winter they leave the truss rod loose

  • 'Guitar shaped object' used to be a joke to tell your wife when you have too many.
Now we have chinese sellers who actually SUBCONTRACT the building of a guitar for you – to someone who isnt a luthier that doesnt want to quality check the item as a musician would. You really get a thing that looks like a guitar.
STOP BUYING JUNK GUITARS, they still cut down forests and waste this timber (on these junk guitars) and we cant get old growth timber back – everyone was too stupid to replant these trees 70 years ago.

  • Just here to add a comment about the misleading title. You're welcome for the view, the comment and I accept your apology for wasting my time.
PS – scrape off the logo (acetone will prob do the trick) and give it to a local guitar shop so they can sell it to someone who could use a cheap starter.

  • Yeah what’s the purpose of this nonsensical video? Are you trying to spew your guitar expertise? You’re just completely weird dude I don’t get your creepy demeanor

  • All this shows is that you have all been buying a name thinking it would make you a better guitarist.Bad mistake.Gibson and Fender overpriced bits of firewood.

  • You know what, you're so smug and pretentious, the fate of the guitar should be shoving it up your ass.

  • All the Karen's clutching their pearls, because your title brought them here to see their Temu dream guitar shat on. hahaha! The same dudes that buy these and brag to their friends about how great their "Gibson" is.. priceless

  • After playing for 28 years, I've found it's hard to beat MIK Epiphones & MIM Fenders. Warmoth is the highest quality in "dream guitars". Even more expensive & noncounterfeit Chinese guitars are still Chinese guitars, & they're full of imperfections which sometimes interfere with playability. Balaguer was a huge disappointment, & I'll never buy anyting other than Warmoth from now on. The Chinese Hagstrom in my photo was stunning to look at, but there were lumps in the finish, & binding was peeling, & then fretwires started falling out.

  • I think way too many people are buying these things just for the price and the lookalike factor. I'm never even going to touch Harley Benton.

  • What are "we". Going to do with it ????????????????????????, did I miss that email

  • I enjoyed the video, I knew in advance a temu wouldn’t be better, cmon, didn’t everyone? Counterfeit is dishonest, if you’re ever unlucky enough to be duped into buying something counterfeit, and there’s some pretty hard to spot ones, you’d hate it too. If you’re ever caught buying something with counterfeit money, innocently, you’re still in trouble

  • I appreciate these vids, this will help stop most us from ever ordering this crap.

  • A slow rotisserie over a campfire time lapsed filmed might be cool. Does it roast to death, melt, or give off cool toxic colors as it burns? Maybe get a cheap NUX wireless and have it plugged in to a cranked amp while it spins and record the audio also until that melts. Get creative and the video should get you back the $200 plus maybe enough for your time making the video when it goes viral.

  • If you were so "horrified" by buying a Chibson you should not have posted this video or indeed the follow up to it. I have unsubscribed from your channel because of this and by the way ,Mark Agnesi knows where you live …

  • As a collector of American made guitars for the last 45 years, I recently succumbed to the e-bay $207.00 (they took my low offer) Chibson Les Paul Slash model. More out of curiosity, than anything. After replacing the useless tuners, the electronics and leveling the frets, I'm surprised to say it's not terrible. I would gig with it. It sounds like you would hope a decent Les Paul would sound, with an Alnico 2 in the bridge and a 5 in the neck, orange drop capacitors, CTS pots. It does rock. And it looks decent from 3 feet away – similar 80 grit sanding marks mentioned above, barely visible – but there. A really a good looking guitar, though. Would anyone but the sharpest of members in the audience notice that it's a counterfeit? Nope. Bottom line? You can make them work and have a cheap guitar you don't worry about. I'm in a total of about $420.00, and not embarrassed about it. I've got plenty of real Gibsons, so this one is more of a novelty to laugh about with my friends, do some blind listening tests with. To my defense – when I ordered it, there was no way of knowing if it would say Gibson on the headstock. I would never try to pass it off as a real Gibson, but I have no intention of selling it anyway!
