1980s Randall RBA-500 Bass 500 Amp Sound Demo
The RBA-500 was a high-powered, solid state bass amplifier produced in the early to mid 1980s. This particular one was made in 1981 according to internal dating. With the gain cranked, you can get some extremely gritty bass tones.
Signal chain in order: P Bass + Randall Bass 500 Head + Fender Rumble 410 Cab + Carvin D44 Mic + PreSonus Audio Box USB 96.

Cliff Burton used this amp
Hi Is this amp similar to the one used by the late Cliff Burton? Thanks
Does anyone know anything about the Randall rb 2000? There's a used one for sale but can't find any info on it
The overdriven sound of these old SS amps is something special… Have you ever played through a Randall RB-120? I'm about to buy one of these and I need some opinions. 🙂
I have a picture Randall sent me that explains the bass roll and frequency shift purpose they said they dont have a copy of the owners manual. I'd like to foward it to you somehow if youd like it how would I do that ?
Loving that overdriven sound at 1:35
I have a 300 and always wondered about this amp. Sounds great!
Hi have the same head its brutal if anyone else has some info I'd like to share about the "bass roll and middle freq shift" according to Randall keeps things more stable at low subsonic levels "let's the subs breathe " sorry cant think of the term
I own the amp in this video now. It’s fantastic. Great video Caleb!
