Quick and Dirty Reviews (Episode 2) – Fender Acoustic 100 Amplifier
Thanks for watching!
Quick and Dirty Reviews returns! In episode 2 I look at the Fender Acoustic 100 amplifier along with the Yamaha CG-TA guitar to see what kind of trickery it has up its sleeve. An impressive little amp with a single 8″ speaker, this thing has a really nice clarity to it and can really liven up a classical guitar.
What do you think of the amp? Is it something you would use yourself? The key reason for this gear is that opposed to a standard concert classical guitar, this setup can get MUCH louder and yet it’s possible to have it whisper at nearly the level of an acoustic instrument at the same time. The dynamic range available is staggering in comparison. Used to good effect, this type of setup can really accentuate your playing and bring otherwise quiet and lifeless playing to life. Compared to many other amps I tried, this one just has he smoothness and the clarity that I was looking for. It certainly doesn’t help that it looks really nice at the same time and has useful features.
Let me know in the comments below what you want to see in future episodes and if you want a deeper dive into any of the items I review in the Quick and Dirty series.
