I’m an really enjoying this new guitar I got yesterday at Gruhns. A Martin Custom Shop Authentic 1937 000-28. Pretty damn good right out of the box.

Gawd… those opening notes!
I had my dad`s dog tag but not sure where it is now. I remember him telling me what that little notch in it was for. He said it was for when a soldier died on the battlefield, they put the dog tag in the mouth and the notch fit in a tooth so the mouth stayed open. Reason was a dead body will bloat if the gasses cant escape the body so they had the mouth open for gasses to escape. A non-bloated body was also easier to identify so, thats the reason for the notch in the tag. Now you know.
I just picked up a new 00-28 and I really like it. I don’t typically prefer rosewood vs mahogany, but this one is just a great sounding and playing guitar. I hope to enjoy many years playing the heck out of it.

Man, the bass response on that thing for a small body guitar, is simply dumbfounding. I think Martin are currently making the best guitars they have ever made! We just sold a 2025 D-18 sinker, and I loved it so much that I threatened on keeping it, even though I’m supposed to be selling, not keeping lol.

I have an OM28, I'm very happy, but I think the 00018 is the Holy grail.
You can make any guitar sound good!
I wish that Martin would stop using the so-called 'ageing toner.' It looks yellow; nothing like a nice naturally mellowed guitar top!
You can tell it's rosewood just by the overtones

Great playing. I'm pretty much a beginner. I have a Takamine G, I recently tried out my friend's 000-28….it was amazing.
I had a 1937 OOOD18, handed down from my Dad. I gave it to my Nephew for Christmas. At least It's staying in the family.
Now That’s one Awesome sounding Authentic ???? Huge sound. That 000 will give any Dread a Run for the $$

What do you think in the Martin line would compliment my D41?. I like to play a lot of old country Jones and Haggard ballads I was thinking of a ooo28 but would love to hear you input. Rosewood over Mahogany in the ooo?
