Very cool. I just bought the Modes in motion G major 😉
I use it over Regular A dorian and get the A 1/2 W DIMINISHED ,over that from the diminished ladder showing the MAJOR 3ed .So you get all the notes Chuck Berry would use . Over A no third .Leave the tonality open.
I studied Gambale,and i noticed he plays the Scale TO the exact chord.Where as everyone else ,yngwie,Gabel,Page ,etc play to a pedal or a chord with NO extension
Really good lesson .Shows to an extension then ,no extension,and how to recognise the intervals in the Pattern shape of the Dorian b2 .There are other ways to get this same pattern shape ,in fact it s in Phrygian major mode 5 of harmonic minor,and also in Diminished 1/2 W
