Broken? Defective? FUBAR? The Ripped Speaker Fuzz Pedal from EHX claims to make your guitar speaker sound like it has been destroyed. Why do you want that? Well, it was pretty ok for the pioneers of rock n roll. Is the pedal any good? Find out for yourself with my TOP FIVE TONES!

  • After 4 minutes of yakking, you managed to not get any good sounds out if this pedal. I'm thinking its maybe a little better than that.

  • If any of those rock urban legends are true I'd imagine the Kinks' method would make the gnarliest tone when you pushed the master volume. The clean slice would act almost like a reed in a woodwind instrument, vibrating more predictably than uneven tears or punctures. Just a thought.

  • Frontimage a blatant copy of JHS pedals color scheme. Stand on your own feet.I unsubscribe.

  • Johnny Burnette's "Train Kept A'Rolling" is an early instance of damaged-speaker fuzz.

Also: great demo of a pedal I'm dying to get!

  • Wasn't expecting at the start of this I would hear Rocket 88 or Rumble in a pedal review ! But I did and just bought one as a result.

  • I love this pedal!
If you put the Rip at 0 , fuzz at 10, vol and tone at 5, you get an accordion sound, actually funny. Great demo!

  • I skipped past the intro and started playing at the 0:45 mark, All I heard was “balls” and “tearing” “rip” “tiny tear” tiny rip” ????????

  • I love the Germanium OD back when EHX was changing all their classics into XO enclosures, and have been waiting for it to dawn on them to release it as a Nano enclosure. This seems to be the closest so far to a re-release, I just might…

  • I will say this pedals layout is pretty similar to the MXR super badass variac fuzz. I’d love to see a side-by-side between these two!!

  • Subtle; with the RS output set to push up into an, already on, overdrive when engaged.
it also makes more sense to do it with a pedal; because, as soon as you make a hole in the speaker, the efficiency drops and the life of the speaker is shortened.

  • This is some of my favorite tone from your channel. Can you tell us what gear you were using? I want this pedal but it doesn’t sound as good in some other demos… thanks!

  • Bollocks to the pedal, let's talk about the hair. That shit is ruling. Now, let's discuss the not so great guitar face action @ 08:48. Begin.

  • Thank you for the video! I purchased this when it first came out. Initially I was disappointed coz I did not realize that when rip was dialed up no sound cane out if I didn't strike the strings hard enough – I actually brought it back to Long & McQuade coz I thought it was broken. Lol. I love the sound this pedal gives. I've tried adding a boss distortion 2 pedal but then no sound comes out. Gotta test some more.

  • Plenty of traditional fuzzes don't work in combination with other pedals. This one adds some nice grit – if that's your jam.

  • I get 5% cash back from my Guitar Center purchases (as well as 6 months of free money) and I just used my cash back on the purchase of a Les Paul Standard '60's to get this pedal for free. It will be paired with my '65 Super Reverb

  • If this has a Tone Bender circuit, which it probably is as it has a glassy clean up, then may be a " rip" off of Blackout Effectors Fuzz Bear / Fubar. Or it could be a Fuzz Face circuit, as that too cleans up well.
