  • When bad is good, you are the baddest guitar player I've ever heard. I love it. I missed the Tonex giveaway. Do you think if I had one I would sound as bad as you?

  • The ToneX has overtones that sound a little peculiar. In a mix, I doubt I could hear this.

  • Ah Tim, you‘re making me wanna buy it. Twist of fate: was about to spend more on a Neural DSP, but with the X I have more cash for the next session. ???? hugs from Zurich, Joe ????

  • Talking about the Rockman, I remember playing through one at a flea market back in the late 80’s and thinking it sounded like Def Leppard. So finding out only recently why that was the case was really fun.

  • It was a great pleasure to know that one of your guitars was made in Ukraine )
Hello from Ukrainian musicians and thank you )

  • Great stuff mate. Could I run the Tonex directly to studio powered monitors for my bedroom and low volume playing etc?

  • Tim , I’m a recent tonex user , I would buy your tones if you would capture them . Please consider that for the music community

  • Bro !!! you played one of my favorite Led Zepplin songs "out on the tiles" I love that song. You sound great man. Thanks for doing this video !!!

  • You may have let go of the pedal a little early… There's some really good third party captures… And they even give some crazy good ones for free.

  • Dangit – you got me again, Tim! I love your playin' so much, I forget to pay attention to the tones the product is making! I have to watch all over again…… Prayers for y'all in SoCal, brother! Saw your updates on the wildfires this week – unreal – prayers, man!

  • The real amp has more bass and presence
    But it is the Reference
Considering that it it’s the best we got at the moment and the size it’s muuuch smaller
No doubts it worse the price

  • My ears could definitely tell the difference, and I preferred the real '68 plexi clips. But it's not like the Tonex was bad. Despite having no intention of getting rid of my Friedman amps or mothballing my DAW plugins… I'm pondering getting a Tonex for travel and because I have a friend who I'll be gigging with a few times this year and who uses zero amps and wants to keep things in the digital realm. Not really my preference, but I can live with it a few times.

  • I’m looking for an amp modeller so I can gig with my electric again as with the full PA system there isn’t room for an amp ontop of that so I had to cut down and use acoustic. This looks more useable than its counterparts.

  • I keep hearing good and bad things about this pedal. I think the bad comes from those who forget to turn off can sim when plugging into a guitar amp

  • Well you will have to pay twice for the Tonex software. Just bought Tonex Max but that is a ripoff. I assumed it would unlock amps in Tonex, so both on desktop and iPad. But on iPad it is an extra 300 euro purchase to unlock Max. With the big pedal you get the Max software for desktop and that is fine. But be aware if you have a tablet as well. If you go for just the software, I’d recommend Bias FX, Helix Native or Neural. Just got banned on the IK forum for asking them to make this clearer for ppl buying the product, I guess they do not want you to be aware.

  • Honestly, when you Profiled your amps with your Kemper you didn't know whether you were playing your mic'd amp or the Profile…and then you said, "time for lunch".

  • Man, your ear is so good, I was in complete alignment with your assessment. The Tonex seemed like it had less gain, and thus, less body (due to the additional distortion of the wave on the actual amp).

  • Did you see that Tonex is supposed to come out with a free upgrade that will add a modulation effect and delay to the pedal this November? Can’t wait!!

  • If it sounded like any of my vintage fender amps on the bridge pickup of a strat or tele I'd buy one. It doesn't. Neither does a strymon, DreamWorks, or any of them. I've tried them all. And no, they're not close, not in a live setting.
