How To Get The John Mayer Guitar Tone || Do You Need $100,000 + ?
Having heard John’s guitar tone live, I explain how I achieved the John Mayer Guitar Tone in last week’s video and breakdown the fundamentals so you can recreate his iconic tone.
Hear me playing my favourite John Mayer Solos:
You’ll notice I added a clip of John speaking about EQ, if you want to watch the full interview with PRS then you can watch it via this link – it’s great!:

Hope you guys enjoyed this! Happy John Mayer-ing!
amazing tone and playing! which mic are you using to record your blues junior?
Awesome video!!
Hi Chris, you have a lovely channel. Lots of good stuff you put out for guitar nerds like us. Live and regards from India????????
Underrated channel β€οΈ
Hi again Chris. Just a quick question, in which order you'd put these OD pedals (tumnus, ts 808 and Morning Glory)?
Awesome content as usual, thanks!!
"Not a middle guy"… "Scooped mids"…. favo pedals: crisp midrange, pushing midrange, π funny no? I adore strat style sound which IMHO is all about getting away from mids in the source sound which in turn is great with midrange hardware. Humbuckers do not fare well with midrangy stuff.
great vid!
So, can you write the name of the amplifier to sound similar like John Mayer?
Thanks, Im from Spain and the video help me so much!
Great Video as always. I have a Tumnus, TS & Bluesbreaker style pedal. What what your signal chain be. Klon as always on style pedal and then into a TS for a solo boost? and then just the bluesbreaker on its own for solo tones. Interested how you would put them in a signal chain and how you would use them.
Enjoyed the video. Love Mayer and his tone. Liking your strat too. Roasted maple headstock and neck?
Hey Chris, have you heard of the Cornerstone Gladio? Do you think the two overdrives offer some great Mayer tones? I am thinking of selling my Bonsai and BD-2 for that.
missed that one …. but it's such a great video ! Congrats man
Great video and playing (in the other video). You mentioned the Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal. You showed a picture of his pedalboard. There is obviously no Marshall pedal. Do you know what he uses instead? Just curious.
Hi, I am JΓΌng Oo Jean who lives in Korea. I found you for the first time today and watched all your videos. To begin with, I think you still have too few subscribers compared to your skills, and I'm lucky to have a good conversation with you and it's good for you to remember me. I'm sure your channel will be flooded with thousands of subscribers in the near future, until then, 'Let's go together!' ???? See you often!
Great video Chris! Really tasty
cool vid! i am now subscribed π
Awesome man !!! Well done ???? looking forward to the next one !
