How to get the ROYAL BLOOD bass sound! ???????? #royalblood #figureitout #mikekerr #octave #basseffects
With Royal Blood, Mike Kerr pioneered a split-signal system that allows him to create guitar and bass tones, all with four strings, a stack of effects pedals and a Fender Jaguar.
He’s kept pretty tight-lipped about his pedalboard over the years, but the Electro-Harmonix POG2 is definitely one that he’s closely associated with. He also appears to be a fan of the Z.Vex Mastotron Fuzz, Cog Effects fuzz pedals, a Boss LS-2 Line Selector, and a Boss PS-6 Harmonist.
Have you tried to emulate this tone with your setup? We’d love to hear how you’re recreating it! Let us know in the comments ????????????

Love me some PAWGs????
What guitar amp are used in this video?
Christ, why would you want to? One trick ponies.
Awesome job at the tone breakdown!
Any chance of a tone breakdown of LCD Soundsystem's "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House"?
POG, not to be confused with Pogs, I bet Ian has a stock pile of pogs in his collection ????
Sounds great. Though I would recommend splitting it since for some songs there’s moments where you only hear the top octave and not the bass for a moment. He does this with a volume pedal at the beginning of his bass rig.
This is not very close to Royal bloods bass tone lol
Cool setup! I’ve not seen gloves, before, does it help with sound, too, or is it more to protect your hand?
Ehhh. ????
Shame his signature bass is terribly made, it does look cool
Hooray
