  • Thanks for your honest assessment. I was considering one of these for my 12 yr old. The chunky neck would be a problem. Is there a thinner necked bass one could recommend for a young beginner?
    Thanks again

  • I have one of these jazz basses and most definitely performs above and beyond 100 dollars. Sounds, looks and feels like a proper bass and can be setup with pretty decent action. I think people on youtube are reluctant to say its a good bass, not just for the price, to not create unreasonable expectations but they are pretty decent instruments on their own right. 100% you can gig with this and not only would nobody notice, they would sound good.

  • So, would it be correct to say it's good foundation for beginners to learn on, and then upgrade to something closer to a pro level bass? I'd like to buy a beginner bass that doesn't have to stay a beginner bass.

  • I was considering getting a beginner bass for myself for Christmas, as I’ve never actually played an instrument to a full extent before, but have been wanting to for a while. I was looking at this one on their website and it seemed reliable, but I wanted to make sure, so I checked out this video and I think it very much solidifies the chances of me getting it for myself. It was really nice hearing how it sounds and I really liked hearing it in different settings. Thanks a lot for the great review, man!

  • I think that glarry bass sounds really really good especially for beginners as well as the price of course but like you said sir it's upgradable definitely.

  • Growly, crunchy, punchy, gritty, crungy, meaty or beefy, sweet, salty, juicy, grinding, raspy. Sounds are divided in high/mid / bass . Why all those words?

  • i'm boutta get it! it is all i need to start learning and i already have access to a better bass if need
    thank you for your input

  • I had one and the neck was just entirely too big, I absolutely hated it for that reason, I gave it away, if they made the same bass with a smaller neck I would have a couple of them but I can't see spending the extra money on a neck when I could just buy a better bass.

  • Basswood body is highly resonant and will create a lot of sustain I believe that is an actual Rosewood fretboard because it's made in China and they have absolute control of the whole Market on Rosewood to them it's a sacred material that's why we're not getting it anymore as far as the pickups they can easily be changed out to Wilkinson's really I think the only thing this base needs is a ax grinder capacitor and that'll change the the whole the whole sound definitely

  • Awesome review! I have a Squier V5 and a Squier P bass… trying to justify needing one of these. I want one because they look sweet and are low priced- could be a fun mod platform or a dust collector…. thoughts?

  • Glarry makes junk. Out of two guitars and two basses none functioned when they arrived. Two had been used and quite beat up. Glarry’s answer. We’re sorry. Likie a partial refund? All had massive fretboard and neck issues. Electronics are a joke. Noisy hissy junk! The neck on the jazz bass is wider than my P-Bass for God sake. Not one of them came unblemished. All had drips scraps, pre swirled finishes and orange peel looks. One had no jack. None! On a Tele I bought the bridge came off the first time I tried to tune up. It had been placed in so may positions while they were mounting the bridge there was nothing left to hold it. Don’t buy these glowing reviews. These guitars are not worth $100. They are not at all playable out of the box. Glarry is largely unresponsive and only offer partial refund still leaving you with their junk! You have to get up and spend at least enough money to get something like a Squier Classic Vibe before you get anything useable. If it sells cheap. It is cheap! Just trying to warn people that Glarry gets away with murder and makes junk!

  • My GP Glarry 2022 'natural color has 90% neck like my Fender Ultra Precision bass. Maybe all the remarks about the thickness of the neck influenced them to adjust the neck to the normal feeling.

  • Excellent, thorough and interesting review. To me, the bass sounds great for very little money. The drawbacks are very few. I think the suggestion the neck could be changed defeats the object of buying cheap. But I have just bought a banana yellow one on the basis of your review, just for fun.

  • Ordered one for its ' lightweight.
Your review is echoed by others that reviewed the bass.
Is it a shorter scale ?

  • Excellent review and playing. It would seem a lot of reviewers have mentioned unwanted noise with these guitars, which could be a problem for gigging guitarists, but then again getting a gig would be difficult in England anyway so noise isn’t going to be a problem until music regains it’s roots at least not here.
Keep up the reviews, I enjoy them, and find them informative.
    Thanks

  • As of Jan 2021 this P-Bass or a Jazz Bass is $85.99 US funds with free shipping in the USA. This is the lowest price for a playable bass on the market at this time. It is made in China and they are wrapped at the factory and shipped to the US distributor. They are not checked in any way by the distributor and are reshipped to clients in the US. So the quality can vary with occasional cosmetic defects or defective parts on your guitar. On the positive side Glarry according to reports seems to stand by their product and will offer to correct the situation as it arises. For the price if you are able to do some basic setup procedures ( YouTube videos ) you can have a perfectly functional bass for a very cheap price.

  • I have 2 Glarry basses, one of their P basses and one of their Jazz basses. I personally love them. The amount of Bass that they gave me for the money is amazing and there is so much room for personalized upgrades. I honestly love Glarry instruments for the potential they give musicians on a budget. Creative musicians will throw a new bridge, better pick ups, higher quality strings, etc. I even took my basses in the backyard and sanded the neck down with steel wool for a super smooooooth natural wood finish that my hand oils are staining just by playing it. These basses WILL do it ALL from the factory but the potential they give you for the money is an absolute steal!
