WTF… how is this DIGITAL amp *SUCH* a good PEDAL PLATFORM?!?!

#fender #tonemaster #pedalplatform

The fourth video in our FENDER TONE MASTER TWIN BLONDE EDITION series, this week we explore how surprisingly well this amp performs as a PEDAL PLATFORM… listen for yourself…

We kept the Tone Master Twin Blonde settings the same, put an SM57 up to it, and shuffled through some of our favorite pedal combinations. The amp handled all of them…like a champion!

  • Because this is a DM amp does that mean it will be less noisy (hum/ hiss/ noise) than a regular tube amp in, say, a home studio situation where you might have a lot of other electronic things plugged in?

  • Thanks for this video. You are right about volume on 5!! Makes everything sound great. From Friedman BE-OD to morning glory.

  • I don't understand why anyone would be surprised. Unlike like the vast majority of modelled devices, it only has to nail the sound of one thing- a classic low-gain Fender circuit, trem and reverb. It would be more shocking to me if it wasn't a good pedal platform!

  • Nice playing! How is the amp holding up. I'm getting one. I'm going to hook it up to my Boss gt100. Pedalboard in a box. I miss a real amp. The amp emulations are OK, but….I'm almost 60 and have had tube amps and pedals my whole life. Wanted to simplify, because of all the weight. What are your thoughts. Thanks!

  • Just bought the TM Blonde Deluxe Reverb. Starting to dial in my pedals: Wampler Ego Compressor-Wampler TUMNUS-MXR Duke of Tone-Dunlop MINI XP4 volume pedal-Fultone SupraTrem-Wampler Ethereal (Delay and Reverb). I really appreciated you sharing your tone journey and very clear demos and descriptions of effects. Well paced and well recorded. I’m excited . Thank you ! ????

  • The main thing I love about these amps is you don’t get the ice pick and background noise of a conventional tube fender. It does enough of a convincing job without all the added mess. That and you save your back. 🙂

  • Subbed. Loving your tone. I have the Blonde Deluxe and an American Pro II Strat.

Been looking to grab a few pedals. Drive recommendations? Archer?

  • Nice playing man! Very Jerry-like vibe! You clearly enjoy the amp and that comes across from your anecdotes about your live gigs, and I like the way you also objectively present the arguments for using the TM too. I play in a couple of covers bands (electro-acoustic Americana/50's/country stuff – so a Boss ACL takes care of that) and a 60's/70's blues rock/pop band for which I use a 30W valve amp – it's getting too heavy to lug around with all the PA gear too, so I think you might have converted me. Was initially looking at the TM Blonde Deluxe but think the Twin would better suit the small live events/pubs we play. I do like to have enough headroom (and using pedals). These amps seem to be out of stock most places here in the UK, but will try and score one on Reverb or similar. Cheers!

  • Sounds great, I'd be curious to see it compared to a Hot Rod Deluxe. I've got a HRD and a Boss Katana, and I have to say that the Katana also does a pretty darn good job of taking pedals.

  • I just loaded the standard DR firmware with the reverb mod in my Blonde. Gave me the high end I was looking for and sounds great with the Creamback. Worth a drag and drop to try it out if you're curious.

  • This video was so inspiring. I happen to have the same amp, playing a strat. Really looking hard for a solid overdrive, and I really like the archer ikon tone here. Would you recommend it? I'm getting a fuzz face and I'm hoping I can also use it to tame/clean that up a bit too.

  • I really wish there were demos of these amps with proper distortion pedals like a Rat or Muff

  • Jay I like the clean sound a lot I play Motown, Funk and a few classic rockers where I will need Marshall type distortion would this amp fill the bill
or should I be looking at the Katana Artist. Your Opinion Please

  • Hello everyone.
So from what I gather the blonde version takes pedals better than the blackface version.
But what about the clean sound? How do they compare?
Would the blonde have Surf worthy cleans?
