DigiTech SDRUM Auto-drummer Pedal Review
Practicing guitar is more effective (and more fun) when you have something to play along with. Unfortunately, by the time you program your drum machine or sequencer, your inspiration is gone. DigiTech’s SDRUM solves this dilemma. Simply dream up a groove, bang out a couple of bars on your guitar, and the SDRUM’s BeatScratch technology will build a full drum accompaniment based on your performance. SDRUM leaves plenty of room for customization, with control over tempo, intensity, grooves, and sounds. You also get pads on the front panel for inputting patterns manually.

Can this be used without the loops or programming songs? For example, I only need a snare drum sound when I play muted strings on my guitar while playing a song. I'm using a Boss floor pad for kick drum. I'm not interested in playing along with programmed drum patterns. I want just a snare drum whenever I play muted strings as the backbeat. Thanks.
I’m not kidding when I say that the SDRUM got me into performing live again. This thing is incredible. I highly recommend the external foot switch so you can change song sections and add drum fills.
Hoping that Digitech comes out with more incredible products like this in the future.
Can you use this thing with an electric piano like a Rhodes or even a synth for that matter¿just wonderin' thanx dude(s)
How do you 6/8 or 12/8 for blues? Just modify the 3/4?
$500AUD ripoff
The BeatBuddy might be a better fit for many people.
Does this or any portable drum solution do real time control of the velocity ?
And how do you locate the preset you just saved? Do you have to a scroll blindly and listen? Also, you didn’t show how you use the verse, chorus, bridge parts. I’m assuming hitting the foot switch can do it, or do you have to buy the external foot switch?
does anyone know if you can leave it in learn mode all the time. I am thinking that for a live performance it would be great to start a song with a few dead strums to suit the basics of the beat and then hit the start button to bring in the additional sounds. it would be great to go from a country song to a rock n roll song if this is the case. I find setting up a pattern and tempo on a drum machine spoils the flow .
Can this thing do 3/4 time? Most of these pedals can't. That's a major deal-breaker for me.
Pls indicate where is conncected in the ampn!!!
This looks like a phenomenally useful pedal for showing a drummer what you want.
So does it go by round/unwound for kick/snare?
Un saludo, una inquietud, cuando conecto la salida del SDRUM a la consola obtengo un eco en los parlantes. A qué se debe, muchas gracias por su ayuda.
'Online Owners Manual' …err, no thanks. I want a manufacturer that takes the effort to give me a simple to use booklet manual included in the box with the device. Like BOSS does
Can I calibrate using a synth or a keyboard using the lowkeys for the kick and the higher keys for the snare?
Would this work with a Pedal Steel Guitar?
i just take my looper pedal plug one my outs from sound card into in of looper pedal out of pedal into sound card go to my daw music studio send beats to my looper pedal from my pc to my pedal
Let's see this djent…
Will it work with the JamMan Stereo Looper?
Wow. This seems cool. I'm interested to what I could do with it. I'm skeptical but have a good feeling about it.
Brilliant demo – thank you
Is this good for a metal guitar player
A lot less work then dealing with a real drummer. Excellent demo
Is there any way to skip the bridge and go straight back to the verse?
Greetings……I'm a keyboard player. No chance of using the product at all?
Hi Sweetwater: Could it learn a pattern, instead of from a guitar, from an external audio source, like a phone or computer? Or even a keyboard? For example, if I hooked up my phone to it and played The Beatles "Tomorrow Never Knows," would it learn the song's complicated beat? Or must it be string-deadened guitar sdrum ? Thank you.
I'm hearing MY ADIDAS… I'M THE KING OF ROCK…
WOW.. this pedal is complicated… just want a simple drum beat pedal to go with a rhythm I play…sorry must go ..
Lol! This guys needs an invisible hand!
That's not a foot pedal. It belongs in a rack. You'd be bending over way too much
Can we create 5/8 or 7/8 time signatures with this gear ?
Thank you for this nice demo, I have already the Trio plus pedal, is this Drum pedal better or less interesting than the trio plus???? Thanks for your answer
Really makes me want to jam with my drummer buddy. Gotta go!!
Finally a drummer that will never be late or drunk!
Oooooor you can search your genre backing track and play them through headphones or speaker and jam with it of get a cheap drum machine and do the same thing
Is there any pedal that is designed or is best for acoustic fingerstyle guitar? Thanks.
Trying to decide if this is a product that's actually for sale, or just the drummer joke to end ALL drummer jokes?
Always helpful demos here
Glad I got on here and read the comments–not thanks, DigiTech.
