Generally that’s not how to best set the tubescreamer for these sounds. Shouldn’t need to add gain/drive. Keep that near off and just raise the level for a clean boost to hit the front of the amp harder (if necessary )
The modern and nu metal tone of last 25 years has been a dire uninspiring mush. Bring back the mid driven 80s tones.The modern tone doesn't sit nice or spatial with bass or drums in the mix either.
My tone is 10 low 0 middle 10 treble on the amp then gain to the max and with another eq i make a scoop of the middle and very low frequency then i boost some of the high to get that war metal sound si aggressive you can palm mute shoot chug like a gun
low mids are nice if you play alone. Playing with others you may sound… silent!
