Understanding Jackson Guitars! | Buyers Guide

Chris takes us through the world of Jackson Guitars, and shows us what’s what!

*EDIT*
Yes, I worded the bit about neck thru joins wrong. It doesn’t affect your intonation, or make it harder to adjust, but it makes the neck itself harder to adjust/replace, and costs more/harder to produce. I’M SORRY OKAY, PLEASE FORGIVE ME

  • Jackson is not what it used to be. No way. I've seen changes over 35 years and it's so much different…not for the better.

  • Great video, man. I wish Jackson produces again the Kelly Star that you didn´t mention, maybe because it was a short run in the early 2000s. Cool !

  • Understanding if u want one u can only get a scam 24 fret cause the kids today r too stupid to know it's a sales gimmick that makes the neck over a half inch longer..and the strumming area smaller

  • Don't order Jackson wrx24 there seems to be a shotage in Canada. All music stores completely at mercy of inventory of Jackson guitars being that there is none.

  • Jackson was the birth for the love of guitars for me. Rhoads having a hand is so sick.

  • Even the bottom tier Jackson guitars are top notch. The pickups are cheap and sometimes microphonic, but replace the pickups and they become absolute monsters.

  • I had a mid range dinky for years and loved the feel of the neck, the profile and the finish. Anyone that doesn't click with the feel of an ibanez rg should definitely give Jackson a go….

  • Can I request a piece of advice please?
If I buy a JS-32 for example, (Floyd Rose Is crucial for me), and upgrade it with Seymour/EMG pickups, would it be ok? Tbh, I used to play a JS30 when I was 16, and I liked it too much. Tried Schecter Omen and JLV-7, and didn't enjoed it at all. Now I want to switch my guitar, but don't want to spend more than $1000 on it. I want a guitar which class is not lower than my Schecter JLV-7. Thanks!

  • Удивительно, что не упомянули о такой прекрасной модели, как Jackson Dinky DK2 !

  • I'll buy a new Jackson that doesn't have a Floyd rose I'm thinking the JS32. Or just adjust the truss rod on my old JS30

  • Thanks for the explanation man????. I own a Jackson JS11 which is my second guitar but first ever with tremolo bridge. The first time i plug it in , I can't stop playing. The distortion sound is heavy enough for my ears and it is really enjoy to play with the smooth maple neck. Eventhough the tune always out when using the whammy..I understand bcs it's an entry level guitar but looking forward to upgrade the tuners. It's been 3 years and i never feel regret of purchasing it.

Also i have i question , what about adrian smith jackson SDX? It's signature model too right?i really like the bright headstock with black Jackson logo on it

  • I’m a lefty, looking at the Jackson JS22 DKA. I’m not interested in the Floyd Rose system as I don’t go dive bombs, but need a tremolo arm for some basic trem. I’ve heard the tremolo on this axe isn’t very good. Anyone have any experience with this model?

  • I loved Jackson in the early 2000's when the prices were MUCH more reasonable. The prices for their USA Select series are laughable! Practically on par with Gibson's custom shop.
