Thank you ! Great lesson
By learning classical style music as my foundation. It helped me to understand and prepare for learning other styles of music. I am only a beginner level 4 classical guitarist. And now I am learning your blues slide guitar and fingerstyle blues. Thank you for sharing your talents and experience of knowledge with us. Thanks John
Excellent!!
This is really helpful ????????
Why do they all wear the same silly hat?
Which Martin is this? Fine sound…

Another great lesson, David. Thanks! A nice, clear way of understanding the music of the pentatonic scale, and once I actually made the effort […and it doesn't take very long…..] to learn the fretboard, it just becomes so much easier to understand something like this. All those patterns that just repeat all over the neck. Yep… learn the fretboard! Being able to see the notes and all those patterns is truly wonderful…… thanks for all your work, David.
I sit in my comfy chair, guitar at hand, and the light goes on, bright!.. thankyou David
Considering joining.
Some of the best guitar instruction on the internet!!! : )
Very clear and helpful, thank you.
The YouTube algorithm keeps recommending your channel but since I'm hard headed, I've never paid attention…. until now. SUPER helpful, thank you. New subscriber. It' interesting, I'm a couple years along now and what I find is that I definitely learned to play all pentatonic shapes everywhere and at first that was brilliant but as you note in your video, I did feel like it was a bit random. Overtime, I've gotten to the point where I sort of naturally am making solos more musical, but this way of looking at is a huge shortcut. Wish i would have seen this last year (yes I know that would require you to own a time machine to have made the video last year but I have high expectations 😉 )
I love this David BUT, it seems all i can do is fall into your phrases, rhythym. Soon as i try to 'vary' those on my own creatively, i can't seem to 'find' anything interesting. How can you help with that?
Thanks so much! This is very interesting and helpful!
This is really good stuff.
Every aspiring guitarist should watch this great common sense video before they get well and truly trapped in the maze of the 5 boxes. The countless videos "teaching" said boxes are actually doing a disservice IMHO – they bring "The Emperors' new clothes" to mind. Thank you David.
This really is a GREAT LESSON! A real breakthrough in my thinking. Going back and review your TrueFire material. Thanks.
Thats an awesome lesson thank you!
That was really helpful, thanks a lot.
thank you. very nice instruction. i like your style. pleasant, instructional, and full of feeling.
Great concepts, explained very well!
as we say here in germany: "again what learned" ????

Follow a lot of online teachers and found David by chance. exactly what I have been looking for to transfer theory into praxis. Great lesson, great teacher. Thank you
Great lesson. BTW what is that guitar? Sounds awesome.
I like your lesson it proofs that simple is better.
Brilliant
Really well explained. What a moment of enlightenment!
Thank you for making this less complicated and very sensible
Tell me where you got the hat. Seriously. ????
Great insight. I sure wish someone would have shared this logic with me when I first started learning guitar. It seems so obvious but I couldn't come up with on my own,
Wow David Hamburger! I haven't seen you around in ages, delighted to come across you again! Loved your old Jazz Blues licks videos! Looking forward to watching all these videos now.
this is pretty much all you need to know. This 'simple' idea leads to authentic finger style blues. It's all there is too it. It's that 'simple'
Smart guy, good teacher, pleasant manner.
Sir, you are awesome. Hou teach multiple ways and eventually got to my way of learning. You just took 30 years of struggle from me in a few minutes. Tysm
I've been playing for nigh forty years
At first, this seems boring, but then I realize I'm learning some fundamentals I hadn't known were fundamentals. Go through it a few times. I intend to come back to this quite frequently.
Tremendous guidance for playing music!! Thank You!
Great lesson David! Makes me want to put away the Strat and pickup up acoustic. Damn you Man! ????
My baby done changed the lock on my back door…
