  • Artist should do a Epiphone Casino Natural Ala beatles P90s , would buy one in a heart beat.

  • A year later and Artist have still not addressed the poor fretboard and fretwork with the manufacturer. I just got the Black58 and had to spend rather more than ten minutes fixing up the rough fingerboard and scratchy frets. This makes for a poor OOTB experience.
Otherwise, a nice budget 335 style guitar which feels and sounds great.

  • I see you still haven't got out of your pajama pants Bob ????????.
Yes they're fantastic guitars for the price – I've got the Cherry58 and the Tobacco burst 10th Anniversary. Both kick arse.
And they say 335's were made for jazz (with evil Ted Nugent laugh, begins to crank the amplifier to full with wonderful feedback).

  • Thanks Bob, so glad you didn't say it was awesome out of the box, and that it did require some work, if it plays as good as it looks, $400! I'm in 🙂

  • I bought one of the Chuck Berry style 355 clones for $350 shipped with a bag.. A wonderful guitar, sounds and plays great. Only gripe is after about 3 months of use, didn't stay in tune. Had it set-up again, I'll see how it goes, but I am on the verge of using it in a live situation.

  • During the review, Bob claimed one or more setting as being “clean” which it was clearly not. Whilst I’m sure that a proper clean sound might be obtainable, I don’t understand why distortion on all settings demonstrated needs to be the nor.
Mind you, if this guitar is not capable of distortion free output, it’s certainly not for me.

  • Are the Bull buckers voiced the same as in their other guitars? I already have a LP style artist guitar, with Bull buckers. Didn't want the same pick up sound in a different guitar

  • Thanks for the nice review. Tuning tends to be the biggest issue for me with budget guitars, so locking tuners are the biggest selling point for me.

  • Thanks for the great Review Bob !!! With such a wide tonal range due to the Coil Splitting of the 'base' Bullbucker created sound abilities it has, what would you say those ranges/tones are like if you compared other specific guitars to those. I mean like, can it be a Stratocaster, or a Telecaster, or a Les Paul….. at least very much like any of those – or close enough to. Or what specific difference (in body wood/construction tone creation etc) makes it NOT able to be like any of those in any close manner. From what I see (hear?) it seems it could mimic any of those to some good degree(?).

  • Great review and playing by Bob Spencer ???? I’m a little confused by the info conveyed here compared to the website. Bob says it’s a plastic nut, the website says bone. Someone’s asked about the weight, Artist has responded with “2.5 to 3kgs”, the website says “3.5 to 4kgs”.

And what does “preamp” refer to in this video’s title?

    Cheers ✌️

  • I have the seventh Anniversary, which has had many compliments. This sounds really great, what amp is used, please?

  • Can I ask how heavy is it? I find a lot of these cheaper guitars are like bricks. Being semi hollow i'm assuming it's not, but would be keen to know its actual weight. Great review and playing btw.

  • Thanks for sharing… great review Bob…I am 78 yrs old & remember the 'old ' days when I played a Maton as my first electric guitar, so gear has come along way since the early 60s… keep up the good work… cheers ????

  • Don't worry about the copy Bob – the demo said it all. I'm sure Artist would know what to send me if I stump up the cash!
