Love this—I’m a relatively new guitar player and have played only a small, random selection of high-end guitars in shops. Was underwhelmed by the Gibsons I tried, but this really helped me understand why people like them. Especially the part about how the sound remains compressed/contained.
A truly excellent video.
God knows I tried to find cheaper versions of the Gibson sound, but you can’t find them. Only the real thing will do, and it IS unique and worth it.
And yes, they really do compliment a tenor voice.
It turns out that a huge number of my favourite songs were written on a Gibson, especially a J-45 or J-50. I am now the proud owner of a J-50 myself.
