  • I appreciate that while you lean a bit into the overdone “metal” vibe that so many associate with Darkglass, you also do a nice job of showing off some of the other things this unit can do. That one-dimensional crunchiness is cool, but Darkglass products generally, and this pedal very specifically, have so much range and variety to offer that it’s nice to see a reviewer dip into those waters.

  • I'm really excited about the Anagram, atm. I love the stereo FX loop they've included that could be super useful when using the Anagram with an existing pedalboard.

  • Do you guys even use effects and stuff for your basses? Bass sounds good as it is to me. I use a darkglass B7K ultra with a slight EQ change but I never even use distortion, a wireless system and a compressor, nothing else, and what else would a bassist need? I could even part ways with the B7K ultra and wouldn't notice much change.

If it had a wireless system integrated, tho, that would be awesome.

  • Oh man, don't think it could replace my stomp. Wish I could fit next to it.

  • The thing is, the price is just too high for a bit of gear that will be outdated in a very short few years + can be so easy to steal being at the front of a stage.
I choose to use a Boss GX-10 because already really good, stage proof, all I need inside and a third of the price,. Also the screen is not going to be under my shoe when I use the footswitch.
I do not understand people bringing "high quality" or even boutique stuff on stage, like they do not care about money?

  • Looks and sounds amazing, but the price (118 eur on Thomann)? It has the display and XLR I miss on my Nano Cortex (510 eur). Putting it on my wishlist for times with lower tarriffs. Good video! Subscribed????

  • Or maybe the virtual pedals chain screen could have a lock symbol on it, so they are "locked" in place and couldn't be dragged by accident?

  • Great to be able to use the stomp boxes and go out to your amp as normal and great to set up amps and cabs to go out to PA etc., but there is, as I perceive it, a great lack of FRFR units for bass in order to take full advantage of the unit.

  • I don't know if this was intentional, but all the demos I've seen of this device so far have sounded really muted. This video even uses a GK amp sim, which I think of as a really bright brand. I know your usual tones aren't super bright, but the tones on this video seem way more muffled than even your other videos. Any thoughts?

  • Just sold my HXstomp, wanted simpler and tactile knobage. Any thoughts on whether this will also overdrive me mad?

  • Nice introductory review. It sounds excellent but the touch-screen interface looked a bit clunky (unless that gets a lot easier with practice). That makes me think it might be one where it's worth waiting for the upgrades before committing . . .

  • no debating, Darkglass always sounds good, especially if you're into the more distorted sounds. question is just if it was a good idea to come out with another pedal in that price range, the multieffects market has seen a nice boost for some time now, and for the same money you can get a Headrush Prime or a Boss GT1000 and if you're already in this price range you're not far off of a full blown Line6 Helix pedal, as for using neural amp modelers I belive the Valeton series just had an update so even on the GP100 that cost close to nothing compared to this you can use neural modelers aswell, so that technology just got A LOT more accesable

  • As touring musicians I highly despise touch screens and prepatches. You have to make adjustments on the fly to your EQ or effects depending on the venue and I really don't like fiddling with a computer or with something like this darkglass. Don't get me wrong, for home or studio this thing sounds amazing!
Besides that, my single pedal board took quite the beating and was soked multiple times in beer, don't know if the touch screen would survive this. I would love a review from somebody touring with this.

  • I'm wondering why Darkglass didn't include the B7k. The B3k is alright, it just doesn't quite equal the B7k. Maybe we'll get it in an update. Overall, I love this thing. Cleans are amazing and the drives are fine. You just have to really work with the rest of the modules to get the drive sounding good.

  • Hi Jonny from across the pond! I really appreciated the review. What do you think? Would you retire your HX Stomp with this one?- Cheers-Brent, VT

  • This really looks like it can do it all. How's the tuner? That may seem petty, but the tuner on e.g. the Quad Cortex annoyed me to no end (3 seconds holding down the switch for it to turn up become easily the longest 3 seconds in your life, especially in a live situation).

  • Nice to hear a Darkglass demo that isn't all overdriven, detuned clips. Some of us like a clean tone once in a while.

  • biggest detractor is the price. you can build a seriously good pedal board for what this costs. that being said it might be worth it on the version 2 gen 2 that ill eventually come out.

  • Out of all of the demos of this pedal so far, you have the best and biggest bass tone, well done
