What’s up, guys? In this video I’m showing the settings that give me the best results when I run my Line 6 POD 500x into real amps. At first, this seemingly simple task, was trickier than I had expected. But, I feel that I’ve figured out a good setup for getting great tone when running a 500x into an amp. Let’s check it out!

This is my 3rd view. I can confirm that some electronic sync between Guitar, PC 500XEditor and Amp will change the sound from the already set and sent. My Amp disappeared and Mixer level lowered!

Just got a line 6 pod hd500x bro I need help getting clean and distortion channels
I bought mine 2nd hand and im having trouble trying to register it wuth line 6
Going studio/direct makes the hd500 use the cabs, so you have a digital cab running through a real cab, which sucks. Makes it soundnso muddy.
I use Stack Poweramp and it sounds great and doesn't color your sound as much.
I really like that Gretch. I actually played a relatively inexpensive gretch G5222 jet. Ive never really played one before, and i have to say, the neck was really nice on it. Growing up an AC/DC fan, i always loved Malcolm young’s tone.
im getting a constant hum when i'm plugged in… not sure why.. has anyone else faced this issue before?

9:25 how do you place your amp model this far in the signal chain? mine is placed strictly in the middle, and I only have the options of pre and post mixer. maybe I just need to update the firmware…
so how about set up your amps? what EQ setting for your Roland and Vox?
Can you plug the 500x into the effects loop? Or is that not ideal?
After more than 12 years of owning my hd500, the best result for me so far is using the headphone out of the 500 and connecting it to the fx loop return of my amp. It preserves the tone of high gain amps. Just make sure you're in studio direct mode. ????

A bit late to the party, but I just got the pedalboard and I'm lost… Is it possible to hook the 500x straight to the amp and sti use the distortion from said amp?? I've got a tube Marshall that sounds really good as it is, but I want to add some delay and chorus to it, just using it's native distortion…

Can you make a video explaining how to use external distortion stomps and how to turn on effects while simultaneously turning on/off other effects? …hopefully that makes sense lol
I have the Pod HD500 and I use the 4 cable method running it into my Mesa Roadster half stack and it rips,the sound is thicker and more full. I always enjoy watching videos on the Pod because you might learn something you didn't know about. Thank you for sharing and rock on ????
I hope this fixes mine, it sounds so bad when I use it for church. Muffles and buzzed up But when I use headphones it sounds really good

hey there, I am looking to use my 500X as an effects board only, no amp models. I want to use my Mesa sound. How would I set it up as effects only?
This may sound like a silly question but how do you switch back to expression 1 from 2? Mine gets stuck on 2 and I've tried pushing down the toe button and it just won't switch.

What if I want to do the exact opposite? I want to use the built-in preamp+cab of my POD? What would be the set-up? This is what I've been looking for since there is a situation I cannot bring an amp into a small-time gig, so I'll just make it due to what's available and sometimes the amps that are provided by the venue are not that great.
Hey Jon! Have you tried dialing up the lows and highs to 0 on the combo or stack front output option before pluggin them into real amps? Try it out! It sounds more realistic than going studio/direct! Cheers! 🙂

Parting with my 500x has been a major regret of mine.
It's one of the best pieces of equipment I've owned.
If you use your ear this is your board. You can get any tone and sound out of it.
I'm actually looking at driving several hours just to get another one this week lol

hello man.thanks for the video.i ve got a question.i m using the hd500x only as a modulation pedal between my drives and my reverb pedals, in front of a vox ac 30.i dont use any amp or preamp models of pod.but i think that my sound is a little bit compressed and not as rich as it was without pod.i did the settings you suggest.does it matter if my pod is on abcd mode or on 5-8? thanks.
I just bought one of these but it sounds really bad with my fender mustang 4 amp. My amp is a modeling amp. It’s really muddy and bad any ideas why ?
