  • About 10 years ago I bought this guitar after seeing the video. Just wanted to say thank you. Great purchase. Still rockin'!

  • I only need 2 volumes and a master tone. It's easy to add a 2nd volume just like on the PRS DGT model. If you don't want to route extra space in the control cavity use a high quality bourns mini pot and it will fit in the existing cavity. If you really want to increase the versatility use the 2012 DGT wiring for coil splitting, leaving part of the tapped coil in the circuit for a more natural single coil sound.

  • Not exactly the most accurate specs to be given, man…

The "flame maple top" is a plain maple top, with a flame maple veneer.

And the "maple binding," as you so eloquently put it, isn't a binding. That's the maple top, you can see the sides of it. If it was actually a flame maple top, so you know, you would be able to see the flames on the side of the maple top.

Oh, and I absolutely hate twang sounds coming from a guitar. Just sayin'.

  • @mountainboarder101   FYI even though the term Tremolo Bar is most commonly used, it is technically incorrect because the word Tremolo actually means – Variation in Amplitude – however Vibrato means – Variation in Pitch – which is what happens when you press on the lever/arm/bar.

Therefore it should be called Vibrato bar, if you really want to use the correct term.
    Whammy! (pun intended)

  • The dudes from Between the Buried and Me use PRS guitars with Seymour Duncans in them.

  • I've owned a PRS SE Custom for 6 years. It's a great guitar. My main guitars are a PRS Custom 24 and a Gibson Les Paul. I constantly have to repair the Custom 24 and LP, while the PRS SE never needs repair. It is a GREAT guitar, great sound, playability, and cost. It never lets you down. Highly recommend it.

  • I'd love to see this Transparent Teal color brought back to the SE line – now that both the Singlecut as well as the SE Custom 24 have semi-carved tops it would look *fantastic* on either model. And Zebra pickups never hurt as well… 😉

  • I appreciate you taking the time to point out the postives and negatives. It would have been nice to see some great playing to hear the tones but most demos are paid endorsee's and won't tell you anything "real" thanks!

  • I just tried the guitar out and that's what I got. No preparing. I don't plan on seeing these guitars for the first time when I go into a music store, I just happen upon them. It's a first impression thing all the way. Bad music but realistic reveiw under the circumstance I think.

  • @johnhguitar John, the best thing to do is to Disable the comments on your videos, and if anyone has inquires he/she should send you a message, and that's it, you do lot's of effort to give us free reviews and you should only accept constructive criticism and not trolling from people 🙂 Thanks a lot for your efforts man!

  • Yeah but he really didn't share what he thought could have made it good.
It's one thing to disagree and put down and another thing to teach and share the better way. Did he do that? I don't know.

  • @johnhguitar i'm sorry to mind myself with you guys but actually you yourself (johnguitar) asked him to tell what he thought was bad about your review, so he did, and then you began to get bit angry??

  • @mountainboarder101
Of course, just to revive that idiotic comment of yours =)
    You're welcome!

  • @johnhguitar Don't be angry. Criticism is inevitable and it helps us become better.

  • Hey listen, I'm tired. why don't you do it. Tell us everything about the guitar without holding back.

  • @johnhguitar Ok. First of all it is not a copy. SE is budget series of of original PRS guitars for students.
You made couple inaccuracies in specs. You should read it before shoot this video. What did you said about pickups? Zebra pickups. Ok, I see it.. How hot is this pickups? How close it sounds to original PRS or any other recognizable pickps? You talked a lot about obvius. Would be great to hear this guitar on various amp setting clean/crunch/lead.
It wasn't very informative. Not review.

  • Fine! But you should back it up with the reasons you feel this way. Let us know why you think it's a terrible review.
As I said in other reviews, the guitar was handed to me and I gave it a try and said what I said with no bias. Everything I said was there in front of me and if that means I don't know what I'm talking about so be it.

  • come onnn, you're not telling us anything we wouldn't know from looking at a picture of it

  • seem to go over the top on a few OBVIOUS things about the guitar, that you can just see from looking at it
also its not a 'copy' its a student edition, its still the same company!!
saying 'copy' makes it sound like an Epiphone Les paul compared to a gibson, not nearly the same. PRS SE Customs are amazing
