The Best Solid State Clean Amp? Orange O Tone 40

In this video I run the new solid state Orange O Tone 40 amp through a song and mix to showcase its sound. All the guitars were recorded using this amp. No pedals were used, all the sounds are from the amp by itself with the exception of a little bit of post fx room reverb I added to the entire mix to get everything to sit together nicely.

The best words to describe this thing is 'Noise Box;' it's noisy and boxy. The cabinet allows barely enough room for the speaker, and it's closed back, which is the same problem their Crush Series amps have. As far as that hum, we ran this thing through every kind of cable, and different pickups (even a piezo through a preamp,) and it was always annoyingly present. Orange has serious QC issues with the O Tone. They need to shake up their staff in Jiashan.

Is yours noisy as hell? No matter which guitar I plug into it there’s a ton of hum. Otherwise sounds fantastic.
