  • i appreciate the honest review! great positives but negatives that beginners like me don't always think about. sharpness of the fret board and 1 touch with the whammy and its completely out of tune doesn't seem like a lot of fun to deal with. Thanks so much for your review

  • Ok I just received an email from Fesley that is a Purpleheart fret board not mixed material. They even asked me where I read it lol I showed them what you are reading from. If you kept scrolling that page, it said purpleheart fret board on the picture description. It is confusing.

  • Properly floating the trem will usually straighten out tuning issues. I have done all of my guitars and they are all rock solid and giggable without re-tuning.

  • I purchased one on auction for about $80, and from what I've seen so far, it seems like a decent guitar for the $250 retail. The only issue I have is that the fingerboard is composite wood, which seems a bit unusual since most guitars at a similar or lower price come with at least Indian Laurel wood.

Playability issues such as fret ends can be done by yourself with basic tools. There are many YouTube tutorials on how to dress your frets using sandpaper, files, or even a fret dressing tool. Tuning stability often comes from an improperly cut nut, low-quality tuners, or just cheap strings. I did all of these adjustments on my Donner DMT-100 for free, it plays great and keeps a decent tune now.

Also, I'm a bit confused about your statements that the guitar has a hardtail bridge, a Strat-style bridge, and doesn't have a floating bridge. It has a tremolo bridge like a Stratocaster, which are floating bridges and not fixed onto the body.

  • A really honest and fair review! Great job with the video! I just subscribed to you based on the Michael Sweet interview and the Brett Michaels concert video with Dee Snyder…. I LOVED IT!!
Love your content so far…. and you are a REALLY GREAT guitar player yourself!! God Bless!

  • The monotone readout of the specs killed me lol you should prob find a way to spice that up. Your rig and processing sound good.

  • 1:50 – I don't mean to be mean but it's POPLAR (2 syllables), not POPULAR (3 syllables). Common mistake people make when referring to this type of wood.

  • Thanks for your review, Emily. Love the purple finish and the headstock looks great, but I'd rather spend a little bit more to get a name brand / better quality guitar. I get so unnerved when I pick up a guitar that I just recently tuned and it is already out of tune a day or two later or after a killer shred session.

  • I bought a expensive Epiphone and the sound looked like a shit! The tuners the same.I putted a set of EMG passive pickups, Gotoh lock tuners and now sounds brutal! If you make a upgrade in this guitar, gonna be much better.????????

  • Great vid. But i will never go with Amazon ever again springing for a guitar. Why? I found me a see through acrylic Jem copy with a glow in the dark led dot inlay….great! Until it arrived…badically they sent the wrong one…returning it turned into a massive headache…eventually ups picked it up but i was done. Not meant to be. Never again. Albeit looks like you picked a purple winner! Congratulations! ????????????????????????

  • If ya like the feel of the neck, and the look of the body, I wonder if some sponsors would let ya pick that some parts to upgrade it. It would b fun to see what ya did. Could ya get a tech to modify it for a Floyd and do the fret work? Don’t know if that’s a thing u r interested in, and it’s easy for me to recommend, not having to do any of the work, but it would be an intersecting video. Keep up the good work.

  • If you can’t figure out how to perform a basic thing like fret work, save your money and don’t buy a guitar… you will never learn to play it!

  • That routing for the single coils is typical. The notch is required for the pickup to fit into the body. Normally, it's covered by the pick guard.

  • Do you know why deaf leopard on your shirt is spelt incorrectly as Def leppard? They wanted to copy led Zeppelin who spelt lead as led and also by having PP in the second word.

  • It kinda looks like a Kramer striker but with the bird beak headstock. Also I know you do guitar reviews and covers, but can you try building a DIY guitar kit off of Amazon? I made my dream guitar from one

  • Not different than a Strat, so get some locking tuners and it should stay in tune better.
I have a Fender Strat, and the Fesley is actually pretty good, if not for the adjustments to fret and tuners.

  • Maybe take the guitar to ( Guitar Center) Have them do a complete setup on it and see if it stays in tune better. I know have used an Emory board also on frets also and it works great. Maybe this could be a second video ? Showing ( how ) these issues can be fixed may make it easier for a beginner to purchase.

  • Personally, I would get the Frets dressed and ask the luthier to block the tremolo off too. I don't see the point to a non-locking tremolo. Other than that it is a pretty guitar. For the money, it's great.

  • I should toss in that the fret sprout problem is even more easily fixed than you might think. Your average emory board fingernail file will handle the job without a great deal of risk to the neck's finish. You might have to go at it a few times with really bad fret protrusion, but just be gentle and check for smoothness often, and you should be good to go. This is a good tip, in that it's very low cost, and if you happen to have some emory boards around, maybe NO cost!????

  • They might have had me, Emily, but for one thing. I'm an old campaigner who knows what he wants and what he needs to see. If I can't get the information I need, I can't afford the product; I don't know what it is. I looked for photos of the neck to body joint, which is important in every guitar and particularly in 24-fret axes. I myself would not buy a guitar that had a full-sized neck block (like most Strats) with a 24-fret neck. The upper-fret access would be lousy. That's one reason why I like to scope out the neck to body joint situation. I've no idea why Fesley wants to hide that part of the guitar, but I'm not buying anything that is missing data that important. I haven't watched your entire video yet, so I don't know if you provide a view that they do not, but either way, my opinion is that they would do far better if they showed that joint. Fesley, we're not all rank beginners; some of us are old guys lookin' for a deal. We spend money too, so make it a little more easy for us to cave in!

  • These days my guitars and bass cost me over £1000 each, but, if I was just starting out and didn’t have a lot of money, apart from the tuning issues, I’d be well happy with this guitar, sounds and looks great, and I’m not a fan of single coil pups ????????
