  • Im searching for a very dry sounding delay pedal. Most pedals i tried feature some sort of reverb or modulation. Can anybody suggest a pedal without?

  • That tc electronic pedal sounded so great. I love that Pete was playing and the delay was coming through my headphones in stereo ????

  • I love how they mention The Edge a lot at the beginning and then not even mention him when talking about who made digital delays famous :Dd

The Edge really only used the Memory Man analog delay in the early days of U2. Starting from The Unforgettable Fire pretty much everything is digital delay (first he used a Korg rack and then the TC 2290 rack). So all the most famous U2 songs (Pride, Streets, Bad, With or Without You etc.) are digital delays.

Still a great video to introduce new guitarists to delay though! 🙂

  • Instead of "feedback" the Tc Electronic Gauss says 'Sustain' and the Keeley Mag Echo says 'Regen'.

  • Very helpful and educational video. You convinced me that i want an analog delay for my first delay pedal.

  • Great video once again.
I never really got into delays before, but I played around with a friends Kemper a couple weeks ago and started to add delays.
I've also been playing a lot of Nile Rodgers songs lately. And one of my favourite songs is Let's Dance. So yeah… that's the universe telling me I need a delay I guess ????
I gotta say.. that tape delay might have nostalgia value for a lot of people, but I didn't really like it. Same with the analog delay. My gear (and taste) are all vintage sounding enough. I think I'd like a nice clean digital delay to go with that. Anybody feel free to recommend me stuff.
I'm leaning towards the Boss DD series. I don't need too many options so the old DD3 would be alright I guess?

  • I’ve been using delay pedals since the 1990s and I still learnt stuff from this video. Keep up the great work! ????????

  • You need to talk about how digital pedals can suck the tone out of your amp.
