Tone Science 1 – Setting up pedals with a Clean Amp

In this video Warren goes through his pedalboard and how he has them setup to work with a clean amp – in this case a Suhr Bella 44 head. The Bella is a single channel amp designed as a pedal platform. The amp is running into a Suhr 2×12 semi-open back cabinet with Celestion G12-65 speakers. The cab is mic’d with Shure SM57 and Beyerdynamic M160 mics. The guitar used is a Fender Roadworn ’60’s Strat with Suhr ML pickups.

Please send in your questions/comments, we’d love to hear from you!

  • I now own the Jan Ray, thanks for the inspiration, it's fantastic! Can you post your Jan Ray settings? (it's a bit hard to tell in the video) Thanks so much! I also liked the advice of turning down the tone knob on the neck pickup.

  • Great video! Love the tone of that Jan Ray pedal. Can I ask what your settings you are using on the Bella? (I have a Bella too) Curious also if you are using an attenuator?
