The coolest short scale bass EVER? (and it can be yours)

Hey Groovehacker, Scott here… hope you’re having a wicked day! 🙂

I got my hands on a VERY cool short scale bass the other day… so, I thought it’d be fun to make a video about it for ya…

There’s some things I LOVE about short scale basses… but equally, there are things that I don’t like too.

In this new video I’m gonna share the good, the bad, and the ugly…

Oh… AND… I’m giving it away… so YOU could win it! All the details are in this video.

As always, see you in the shed…

Scott 🙂

  • My favorite bass guitar is the Ricky I was about 13 years old when my sister's boyfriend who played in a top 40 band played a backer Ricky lol!! Allowed me to play his blue Rckenbacker and I was blown away with how easy playing bass was going to be

  • Got one!
Recently got hold of one of these, now part of the Warwick(x3), Cort, Ashbory and Kala family> Very cool bass and a joy to play. Dont need another the same.

  • Supro bass… My favorite vintage bass is my 1984 Peavey Foundation Bass. It was my first “real” bass and she still sounds great and I still play her. She’s red btw.

  • I am looking at buying a Fender Mustang short scale bass. I believe they are 30". Do you have any opinion of them? I got attracted to them as I bought a 3/4 size XS precision bass to give to a school in Sri Lanka. It was cheap AUD$289 and seemed to be made well. The compression of the fret and string distances was an issue❤ for me but not for kids I hope. Anyway it was very comfortable around my neck and light weight, which attracted me to the fender Mustang. You don't have to stretch out for the head, money notes so much!

  • So I'm gonna be a weirdo here, Bronco, Mustang, Bass V and VI are my faves. The Fender Bass V, isn't your typical bass, it includes one HIGHER string, making it unique in its intention and uses.

  • Supro Bass… my favourite Vintage Style Basses are a VOX Phantom Mark V, a Höfner Club Bass and a Harley Benton HB-60 WB (All Short Scale 😉

  • Supro bass… My favorite has to be the Gibson EB-2. Not only is it unique and satisfying to play, but it's the bass used in my dad's band back in the 90s. I was maybe 9, it's the first instrument I understood to be a bass guitar, the one that made me be like "I want to know more about this thing." It's a very nostalgic bass for me. If the EB-2 doesn't qualify, then it's the Rickenbacker 4003, simply because of the feel and look.

  • Supra bass…I like the Fender J bass but also loved the Ibanez I had in the ‘80s.

  • Supro Bass… My favorite vintage style bass(short-scale) is the EB series(SG style) as I first learned guitar as a child and am currently in the market for a short scale. Also love the looks of the Gretsch 2200 junior jet series. MUST say that this Supro Huntington short scale is THE coolest bass I have ever seen ????. It would get SO much use if I won that

  • Supro bass… my favorite vintage bass is a Fender Mustang. I’ve been a guitarist since 1956. Got into bass in 1993 starting with a Martin Acoustic followed by a number of solid body electric basses until I discovered the Mustang, short scale is all I wish to play today, switching back and forth between guitar and bass is much easier with a 30 inch scale bass. I turn 76 this September.

  • Please wich strings brand/model do you recomend for 27 inch scale bass guitar?? Tks !!

  • Supra bass…. My favorite base is a Hoffner ignition series short scale

  • Supro Bas… although I haven’t had an opportunity to play one yet, I’ve even drawn to the classic Fender Mustang bass. There is so much info out there and the sound produced in the video’s I’ve seen lead me to believe it is/was a phenomenal instrument. I think this one (the Supro) sounds very good but it makes me wonder how it would sound with flats…

  • I have a few high end full size basses, but I keep an Ibanez Mikro next to my desk to pick up several times throughout the day when I have time because it's just so damn much fun to play! I will likely sell my others and get another short scale.
