  • hi Leon what are you using for your instuments? wired or wireless? if wireless, are you running 2 separate units (one transmitter for instrument, one receiver for IEM)

  • Did you noticed any real differece in tone in your live mix now that you are using the Axe-Fx III on stage?

  • So if you play a festival… 15 min set up between bands…. are you allowed to split the mics of the drums? Can you give a line out of your Fractal or they are expecting to mic a cab? I run a similar but smaller rig and i have to bring my own mics… So for drums i use only one as overhead

  • Question that may extend to another video lol. With stereo in ears, as opposed to stereo monitors or cabs, their are some challenges that you didnt discuss. Using a Fractal for your guitar for example w on stage monitors creates the intended stereo field as programmed w physical space in between you and the cabinets. Lets leave out the fact that youre never sitting in the stereo apex on stage lol. So, both ears perceive a percentage of the stereo field, and floating effects reach your ears at a slight delay naturally depending on transients etc. With in ears, the stereo field is injected, since space is no longer an equation in the sound. As a result, the guitar gets too wide, thin, washy, harsh and feels less in the room at the same time. To touch the tip of the iceberg, do you lessen the pan ratio to say 75% pan, rather than 100% hard left and right? Also, what tricks do you employ on the fractal to compensate for these differences in perception? i know room, air etc. help. just wondering if youve figured out the secret sauce to getting as close as possible to the open air perception? Ive always thought of trying an RTA, and stereo field analysis from the usual physical distance w 2 mics, then matching the results into the in ears… phew! you like to get technical, so i’m bringing it lol…… Thank you for your great videos, as always, from 10,000 miles away.

  • Tell me more about the ultra link and mixing your own ears when splitting with FOH. Do you run a second set of mikes? We used to use a cheap splitter snake in a similar setup and it was a nightmare to work with. The points of failure in the signal chain were plentiful. We settled on double miking almost everything but that was also a pain. Curious how you handle your splits

  • glad I found your channel Even thought I use a Helix, I am learning a great deal from you. Love the videos associated with Ragdoll stuff. Always nice to see how guitarists work with the other band members.
