Hand wired in China?
Love the chord progression you used at 1:01 from REM’s song What’s the Frequency Kenneth. Amp sounds killer!
12" speaker, reverb and fxloop. Combined with an A/B-pedal for high /low input, this might be all you need.
If you get the AC30, you will need more room than you have. As you know, the amp isn't loud, or damn loud, or even God Damn loud.. Moving the sound of money leaving my bank account. If you were to own one new one this would be the one.

Great demo. That amp rocks. I used a AC4TV Combo in a christian rock band and it worked well. It doesn't anger bandmates and it can get past a loud drummer. It was mic'd bya good PA . This would be a great home amp. The AC15 in a house would piss off the neighbors.

They had me at "effects loop". I have the hand wired AC15 in the fawn tolex. It’s a great amp, but it doesn’t have an effects loop. Looking forward to your review of the new AC15.

I do think the price is a tad high, but man is this a massive improvement over everything else they had been putting out. This AC4 has some really great simple tones in it that I think a lot of players would enjoy fiddling with.
Great review, and all great sounds, tele sounds glorious through it! AC10 is surely the logical next one, and is absolutely urgent and vital (subtle hint)!

I'm interested in buying the new hand wired AC15 but they have been so slow in releasing these. These amps were introduced at Winter NAAM 2024 and the AC4 has just been released.

Would pick this one over AC-15c1 for low volume home playing – edge of break up/cleanish tones? How would you compare these two?

I appreciate them returning to their roots with these. While most instruments in human history have evolved very slowly and deliberately, I think we’ve attempted to do too much too quickly with electric guitar and it has so often backfired. The idea of keeping it simple and consistent brings the focus back to the musician and their creativity.
Seems to have been improved in comparison to an AC4TV or AC4C1, but I still dislike the 16 ohm speaker output only and even more the price, if I consider, that I eg. get a Marshall Studio head cheaper or a two-channel Orange Rocker.
Another thing is, an authentic reissue of an early 1960's AC4 with EF86 tube and tube rectifier had made more sense to me, as it simply still sounds better and more unique to me. (Maybe with an additional boost option, but with the real sound and in the best case an Elac alnico speaker or at least a Celestion 100 instead of a G12M…)
