I’m sitting in an airport and laughed so hard at 19:32.
I wouldn't pay $2400 for winged Pegasus, much less a piece of wood.
Thanks man
The 2nd run of AVII guitars includes the Sherwood Green Metallic Jazzmaster with the big headstock I think. Curious if the QC has improved with this rollout. Any thoughts on reviewing that one?
I've been victim of the the terrible QC with a '61 Strat that I had replaced under warranty and now I'm noticing things with the new one like the flat frets and shitty neck pocket. I feel like I'm being taken for a ride. As a someone who hasn't owned many guitars, especially vintage style, It takes time with the instrument to start to notice all of the flaws. I don't think I've ever had a guitar this terrible. It's been the most educating experience so far but the tuition was too expensive.
You got the guitar second hand correct? Looks like it got dropped! Literally! I don’t think it’s fair to review THIS guitar as the standard of which Fender produces their instruments.
Im not buying the dents and dings illustrated in the images as a QC issue, you borrowed the guitar second hand. If the guitar was riddled with these issues it would have been sent back. This was obviously a scratch and dent model.
You’re a guitar tech?
4/17/25 If considering any American Fender please save your money. I just bought a $2500 – 66 sherwood green jazzmaster and it came with dented chipped paint on the body, multiple breaks in binding on neck glued back together, glue on the painted head, tool marks on the neck. In the years since this video Fender has gotten worse at QC not better. They also don't honor the return policy buyer beware. Also if the outside is this bad image the inside!
Did this dude get an early prototype? Cause the new ones seem to have the chunkier, bigger headstock
My son has been wanting one of the these Jazzmasters! Of all the current Jazzmasters which one would you recommend? I’m trying to talk him out of the Vintage II
Karenmaster… noo, you had some valid points
Waiting on week 2 probably won't make any 93 mario would be benched not good enough for team. future fodder for players that can't be on team this game is dead and 6 months till NHL26
Bought this guitar 2 weeks ago in Amsterdam, spent all afternoon cleaning the neck. and treat it so that it does not dry out further. A set of new strings, the bridge adjusted, it was completely wrongly placed in the factory. The tremm was also not set. Everything is ok now, but it's a shame how this guitar was delivered by fender. So why did I buy it anyway? The sound is great. Regards, Jacq
Is it fair to say you prefer the American professional II over this one? I love the Sherwood Green they just came out with on the vintage series, but Sweetwater just dropped the price on the American professional. Decisions!
Leo got his designs mostly right the first time! Fender…stop trying to ‘cheap’ out or redesigning switching or fretboard radii! Not much to improve on. You don’t like Leo’s designs get a Gibson!
Do NOT buy any Fender guitars after 2016!!! The AVRI Series was the last good ‘Made in USA’ affordable Fender of high quality and performance. Exceptions are some of the Custom Shop Fenders and I lucked out on a PERFECT 2024 Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar (mind you it was $3400 CND!)….all the Vintera and vintage 2 and ‘professional’ and ‘Standard’ are all poorly QC’d and sound like crap. Off shore…not to mention the most confusing marketing and product lines in history! I feel sorry for my 12 yr old son who had to find a 2011 AVRI Strat on Kijiji because store bought Fender today is so poor
did fender sue you?
That ground wire is basically just an antenna for picking up local radio while you’re playing. ????♂️
Hey bro, new sub, dig your vids. Trying to fill a Jazzmaster space and need advice: The options in front of me are
– American vintage II 66
– American Professional II (Dark Knight)
– Troy Van Leeuwin signature, Aztec Gold/copper
Or… what is the top Jazzmaster and why?
This video is too long due to unnecessary repetition, digressions, and explanations. He should talk less and calm down.
Hi, Ive been watching a lot of your reviews , very thorough and interesting. Please can you do one on the Fender Vintera ii Jazzmaster. It sounds so good on a comparison video against the Squier Classic Vibes Jazzmaster. So, Im thinking different pickups even though bother supposeed to be Jazzmaster?
I got the Made in Japan Heritage Jazz and I inspected it closely for imperfections. It was flawless. Also only cost me $1200 USD. It has the correct Vibrato arm, the 10's on Volume and Tone point towards me. Setup was good, although I haven't measured the strings yet. Premium Vintage Pickups.
What’s funny about this is supposedly working class channel got their guitar from Sweetwater, which is supposed to do their own 55 point inspection, so it failed twice.
It failed quality control, leaving fenders factory and then left Sweetwater after they’re supposed 55 point inspection. America is just one big con job ????
Well this guitar is now off my list. Thank you for a very honest review. Has Fender responded to you at all?
You can’t judge this series based on just one model that you’ve received; that’s not fair. I’ve owned the American Vintage ‘65, the American Original, and the Vintage II Lake Placid Blue, and by far, this one is the best. The woods resonate beautifully, the neck is gorgeous, the finish is impeccable, and the sound is much better than the other two. Don’t hesitate!
Which Jazzmaster do you recommend. I'd like to get the vintage sound that this is supposed to have but in one you recommend.
that board looks cheap
I've just received mine and it's everything ok. None of these problems. Good fretwork, correct headstock, absence of noticable imperfections…I guess Fender took in consideration the complaints.
fender japan>>>>fender usa
Are you a perfecto de Castro fan Mike?
"overly positive"
It's sad to see that wiring loom.
For 2000 dollars that is completely unacceptable.
No excuse
I'm sad because i am a fender man and it sticks in the throat
Which Fender Jazzmaster would you recommend to buy?
Politely disagree, that guitar is sick!! Mine came in direct from Fender mint!! Even the setup was damn near spot on. I guess I got lucky. The pickups on the AVII66 sound amazing! * That intro was rad AF!
People don’t realize that US Fender hired people off the street with no experience. It 100% shows in their QC or lack thereof.
