  • Have watched some reviews videos on Standart Telecaster Fender made in Indonesia. I decided to try my new guitar tonight. Was surprised with a few things. The sound is loud and clear. No distortion. No deaf strings. Bending goes really well on it. One con I found is that fretboard neck is a little too thick, and it is harder to play on higher notes. Besides, it is not bad stuff for somebody who knows how to play. If you are cheesy in guitar playing, then don't buy expensive guitars or pickups. Cheaper but not cheesy, this Telecaster fits to play good music. My Ibanez HSH pickups combination sometimes gives noisy sound. And it's harder to reach a clean tone. This Telecaster substituted my former Chavrel San Dimas D-1 2 HH FR M, which i sold for 150 bucks in apparent Pawn Shop. High-class guitar is not always makes a guitarist outta you. Did sell Chavrel because of Floys Rose bridge and complicated restringing it. I play often and need to change strings more frequently. It is pain in the neck to dig into screws and bolts of Floyd Rose so decided to get rid o that and bought something easy where it brings joy when you have to restring the guitar. Despite negative comments Telecaster Made in indonesia is better than it looks and sounds not bad at all. And changing strings is not a problem. It makes me laugh how people are attached to trivialities like color of guitar or who has made it. Fender made a good move with indonesia.cheaper labor and the same standards. It's a cash cow franchise for them and Indinesians are not worse from Mexicans or Americans. You can play you will play on anything good music.

  • Don’t like the look of the mismatched color but to my ears it sounded nice. All the other components on that guitar are basically the same as what’s on my Mexican made telecaster that I bought 15 years ago so I don’t think it is a rebadged Squire. It’s nice to have more options. If you don’t like it and can afford a player II series buy one of those. If you Think the Classic vibe is a better value than that’s the guitar for you. However remember it would be a little harder to update the Squire because it’s a little thinner and has the smaller pots. I have always wonted a candy red telecaster but already have so many guitars. I’m retired and not a gigging musician so I will be taking a closer look at the Standard line especially since they charge another one hundred dollars more for that same color to bring the total cost of three hundred more dollars for the Payer II. Not sure if that additional cost is justified for my playing but I will find out for myself. I would definitely stay away from the transparent colors unless you can view one in person and it looks better than this one. I have been to several guitar shops and they don’t seem to have many standards in the shop so somebody is buying them. Good video.

  • That wood matching looks awful, and no neck tint? Classic vibe looks better. Poplar is crap, pine is way better.

  • I compared the finish of the neck on the Squier CV to that of the neck on this Fender. The Fender neck is 100 times more pleasant than the Squier neck. It also has a nicer appearance with a better finish. This difference helped me make my decision in favor of the Fender… It is also lighter than the Squier. It seemed to me that the tuning machines are more stable on the Fender. But yes, there is a 200 euro difference, it's all a matter of choice…

  • the saddles kinda look cool so the screws don’t cut into your hand. The only good thing I see

  • That body wood mismatch of color and grain is worse than a Squier Affinity Telecaster

  • My 2021 Squier Classic Vibe 50s telecaster looks way better than that at 420$

  • That articuar one you are holding looks like crap! They could have at least matched the woods! I would not pay $25 for that! I think I'm decided to fork out the money for a Player II after watching this. The Squier would run circles around that….

  • They should just use solid colors if the multi piece bodies are that different and …. Just get a classic vibe.

  • Looking at the pickups, it looks like they come out of a Squire, Also the wood for a Butterscotch finished is ridicules, this makes it look even cheaper than a Squire, I seen some great looking butterscotch on Squires that the wood looked better matched for a translucent finish. $600 for this! No Way !

  • im a squier fan, probably a minority compared to their overall customer base, but this feels kind of like a slap in the face to my collection of squires lol. This guitar line is purely made for "the dad buying their kid a first guitar", which is what squier was always for.

The squier sonic series is good for modding and their classic line is kind of awesome and unmatched for the price point.

  • That is the ugliest telecaster I've ever seen, with a racing stripe like that you'd think it was a Yamaha Revstar…

  • Maybe Fender made these in order to boost sales on the Classic Vibe even more ???????? ?
And the cost of labor is obviously lower in Indonesia than Mexico or the US so they're not taking that big of a chance…
They know most people will turn them down because of the flaws, bad reviews and the fact it's made in Indonesia…
Personally I had no problem with my short-lived Chinese-made Fenders, these are exquisite guitars but I can see why it's not the same with this one…
Anyway…Fender might take a loss at first but eventually they might make a huge profit with the boosted sales of the CV and other Squiers too…
    I know it's very far-fetched but it's really early here and I haven't had my coffee ☕ yet…
Great in-depth review as always ????????

  • Amazing bias filled, bigoted comments. The ignorance is showing. Just wait & see.

  • @0:14 "….is a Gibson SG". YES! Those new Fenders are worth $399 tops. I'd take a Squier Classic vibe over that one any day. Not paying $200 just for a Fender decal, and that particular one should have been fully painted. I am not even picky about mismatched wood grain, but that one is just…nope! Alpha pots (not bad, but not "Fender" grade either) and a cheap PCB switch?!?! Are they friggin kidding?

  • The fall of American corporations is perfectly represented by this worthless piece of junk being touted as "Fender"!

  • Good review. The most I've played a Fender, was my first guitar 25+ years ago and it was an acoustic six string. I'm looking at what the low end Fenders sound like. It's $859 CA at Long & McQuade in Canada. I think it's a solid guitar but I'll look at the higher priced one's in the $1000 – $1500 range too.

  • Based on this positive revue, I'm gonna get one !!!!! you cant beat the price, best priced Fender in the history of Fender

  • You mentioned that it’s cheap to not include a gig bag but even the player series just comes in a box without anything protecting it. I don’t get how companies like prs are able to through that in but fender just doesn’t even seem to want to move that direction
